Bugs aside, I think a lot of the introduced mechanics are pretty big hit. Personally, while there are things i'm kinda meh and on the fence about, like token like vehicle system but that has been every battlefield since, idk.. 4? but I like where they're going with a lot of things.
The guns feel thicc and pretty satisfying imo, they don't feel as paper doll lazer-y to the COD/Apex counterpart. Mixed with the fluidity of movement with slide and vaulting, it just feels nice all around. I was initially worried slide was going to be a plague much like Apex and COD; but its nice that they atleast added a kinda stamina that you can slide every .5 seconds.. you lose a serious amount of momentum. I haven't had any issues dropping bombs or sweeping up more than just the AI.. but the guns definitely feel like they fit their respective lane/roles pretty nicely. Esp compared to previous beta experiences with BF4 and 3 where for whatever reason Mod 11 in beta was a head popping nightmare to be reckoned with. I was using the K30 earlier and while single tapping was do-able, I didn't feel I could spray as I could in previous BF with SMG's where I could still layup someone from range with a spray.
I'm not too crazy on the ammo changes but I think its a nice addition to squad loadout. Guns feel like they have less ammo, but everyone has access to using ammo boxes; choice between ammo boxes, health boxes, c4, repair, recon nade, and I don't really remember what else as i've just been exclusively c4 and repair tool. C4 toss feels a lot better, running up on vehicles has been a goooood time.
The vehicle changes are great imo. To be really effective as a tank, it really feels like you need all 4 slots to cover each angle. I've hidden around pillars, corners, and walls on tanks and not been immediately wrecked by the tank splash fire, instead the third gunner with the 4 grenade shot is more threatening in this case. As well as the little bird, having a spotter is such a quality of life requirement.. particularly when its raining. The support helio, the MIG and Osprey are miniature gunships if you actually get a crew of 3 together. The grenade launcher decimates.
There are some camera issues with the gunner for Apache's.. doesn't really feel as if the model is complete or the nose is just weird.. but I do like that the gunner seat isn't immediate hop in and go to town.. there is either a delay getting into the gunner seat and on the miniguns, there is a windup time.
But yeah, server issues, and i'm sure graphical problems.. game ran smooth(3070).. but was watching jets do the warp speed.. some rare occasions but it has happened but feels like hit detection isn't on point all the time.
As far as the hero class thing, I like it. I think it will open a door to a lot of things to keep the game "fresh" but still has the other side of the coin to introduce some serious bullshit. I have had zero issues with guys on grappling hooking. I manage to pull of a disgusting shot on a dude trying to grapple to the roof of the point between the missle and giant ass building.
The spotting change feels amazing. I feel like I don't see chevrons everywhere and its an actual job to do spotting. I think the only problem I have, is the whole convincing a friend to be the spotter for your vehicle is tough; its a boring job with little to no reward. Having someone do that job won't be easy.
edit; just did a morning game with a friend.. we ran the jeep and just tokyo driftin while he gunned down soldiers and other jeeps; literal.. just a good fucking time. Some driving bugs, but not enough to detract the fun. He was around 30-x before he had to go back to work with a 1000-900 ticket on the game.
