Nebraska (unranked - 8 win) defeats SEC opponent (ranked - 8 win).
Iowa (unranked - 8 win) loses by 7 to SEC opponent (ranked - 9 win) - by 7 points.
Wisconsin (rank 19 - 9win) loses to SEC opponent (rank 9 - 10win) - by 10 points.
MSU (rank 4 - 12 win) defeats Stanford (rank 5 - 11 win)
Add the Minnesota loss (4pts) and Michigan loss (terrible).
This should put to rest any argument that Big 10 teams can't hang with opposition from other conferences with similar records, barring OSU getting blown out by Clemson (possible - OSU secondary is terrible).
Let's not forget all the smack talk early in season (when Oregon playing same weak type schedule as OSU) about how much stronger Pac-12 is than Big 10. Then MSU defeats Pac-12 champion, and Pac-12 runner up gets smacked down by a Texas Tech team with 7 wins coming in, (TT) having lost their last 5 games, including a blowout to horrible Texas.
Pac-12, at best, is on equal footing with the Big 10.
No, the 2-4 record of Big 10 teams is not impressive, but those are all close games (exception Michigan). Two could easily have gone the other way, which to my mind settles the issue completely about whether the Big 10 remains one of the power conferences - it is.
To be a power conference it is not necessary for Big 10 teams to win every game, or even most games, against other power conference opponents, it is only necessary for there be a legit and roughly equal chance to beat those other teams on any given day.Big 10 teams, aside from Michigan and not yet OSU, have shown this so far.
I could have made this same argument last year. Look back at the 2012-2013 Big 10 bowl scores. You will find that Big 10 teams fared roughly similar last year even, with OSU and PSU not allowed to compete. The games were all quite close by the scores, many single possession games with the Big 10 side facing off against other power conference teams with better records. (Wisc. lose by 6, UM by 5, Minnesota by 3, bad losses by Purdue/Nebraska, and wins by MSU/NW.)

If you want to maintain anti-Big 10 bias because OSU lost a couple NC games 7-8 years ago and the bullshit of ESPN (in direct competition with BTN), do so with no illusion that this opinion reflects any reality outside your own head and the asinine propaganda of ESPN.
