Had you asked us a month ago, 75% of Missouri fans would have jumped at the chance for Pinkel to leave. Probably closer to 90% after the end of last year. He's been much maligned around here for the past few years.

That being said, for better or worse he's here until he retires. His adult kids all live in Missouri now, with his grand kids as well. Ultimately his ties take him back to Ohio, that's where he's from and where he coached for a while too, but I don't ever see a program like Ohio St offering him a job.

There was actually a lot of rumors of Pinkel to Washington after Tyrone Willingham was fired in 08. At that point it made sense, Pinkel was coming off of two straight Big 12 North titles, had got a #1 ranking and was within 1 game of playing for a national title a year before, etc. If it didn't happen then, it isn't going to happen now.

Honestly, I don't know that he's much better than Sarkisian. Pinkel has never been good at winning big games, he basically beats who he should, loses to good teams, and goes to a bowl game with a 7-5, 8-4 type record. That's who he is as a coach. He had a couple great years out of the norm when we had our once-in-a-generation QB(Chase Daniel) but it's been back to relative mediocrity since then.

Quite a few people want our current Offensive Coordinator, Josh Henson, as our next head coach. He's OC for the first time this year(and our offense is the best it has been in several years) and he was our O-Line coach before that. He has SEC ties, we hired him away from LSU a few years back, and he was an offensive lineman for Oklahoma State. When Pinkel hired him from LSU in 2009, it was the first(and still only) outside-the-program hire Pinkel has made since he got to Mizzou in 2001. Dude is loyal to a fault sometimes.

Happy Columbus day, it's not St. Patrick's day. That is different day entirely.

I love that guy. Not sure why The Quotable Les Miles website isn't updated anymore. Used to be good reading throughout the week.
Never seen it. Most of them make the nightly news here or if not they wind up on the Tiger rant website.

I'm guessing most everyone saw his hammer and nail rant after the Florida game, it made ESPN several times over the weekend.

1 of only 2 games left for USC with any real meaning and if we beat ND in South Bend I won't give a shit about the UCLA game. Orgeron could oil up and ride around on Traveller all day at that point.

You should care about the UCLA game unless you really want to be even futher at the bottom of the pac 12 south.

Of course I don't want USC to lose to UCLA, it's almost blasphemy. But lets be honest, UCLA is better coached and motivated at this point whereas USC has nothing to play for. I won't be expecting much out of the game.

Those computer rankings were... wow. No offense to Mizzou at all Joeboo, but I just don't see them as the best undefeated team at all (thus their number one ranking). They are having a great year, and I'm happy for them. But this is why the BCS is broken from the ground up. Even the computers are subjective, since the data entered into their system is subjective. The playoff system is a great start, but I think the only real way this gets pulled off is six conference champs and two at large. Let the BCS rankings seed the playoffs and done. 3 rounds. First played at 4 Conf Championship sites week after the champ games, and then do the other two just like they have four team play off set up now. The way it's set up now, especially with the committee is going to be about as bad as the BCS I'm afraid.

I'd be down for 5 conference champions and 3 at large. SEC, B12, B10, ACC, PAC12. There's no other conference deserving of an auto bid.

Missouri is staring down at least 3 losses. I'd give it time to work itself out. If Missouri does somehow go through this stretch with only 1 loss and beats Alabama or LSU in the championship game, then they earned their spot.

The only potential system buster out there right now is Ohio State who is somehow worse than the Notre Dame team from last year that actually played several quality teams and made the championship game only to be blown out. They wouldn't belong in a 4 team playoff, let alone a 2, but that's sadly what you're looking at right now. If Ohio State hadn't tried to scam college football in their pay-for-play scandal, they'd have made that championship game as well and Notre Dame would have a championship. Scary.

Oh okay, that makes more sense. You guys do have a decent shot against ND.

BCS not even released yet and the talk is already starting. On ESPN today on some college football show they had a round table discussion about how a 1 loss SEC team would likely play in the title game over a no loss Ohio State.
