You'd be surprised, actually. Our GamerGate thread is one of the more notorious on the web hahahaha. In fact, during the height of the GamerGate thing, Gawker's own Sports Site (Deadspin) called us out for FoH's misanthropic legacy:

Is it actually possible to merge the old posts in here? I have been through this process multiple times on various boards and there is always talk about getting an SQL dump of the old site and merging it over but it never actually happens.

It is very possible and we are working on that with or without the official dump. The official dump will be 100x easier.

Unlike probably most other sites I can easily spin up a second VM copy of this one and run a test on it for the importing before we run live with it. They probably try it once and it ends up a disaster and they freak out and give up.

Yeah it was bugging out for me earlier too. It wasn't as bad as Jan-Feb but it was definitely timing out and db-error'ing the last few weeks when it was supposed to have been moved to "better" servers.
