Did you see they just dumbed it down on the test environment? I'll flex my e-peen and say I will forever be proud that I beat the pre-nerf version.

I actually just finished Act V this afternoon. The Act IV boss didn't really have a gimmick, but the final boss was pretty cool. Staying alive and managing stress was key for both fights.

You were right; I was definitely wrong about leper (and occultist) in my earlier post. With a couple of upgrades and class synergies, both classes are pretty powerful. I still think Runaway is pretty underwhelming.

My party for the last two Acts was Virtuoso Jester, Alchemist Plague Doctor, Wanderer Flagellant, and Tempest Leper. The Jester has so many ways to generate combo tokens that it made the Leper's blind a non-factor.
I didn’t see that. I’ve never actually played this lol

I've been watching some of this on YouTube. I didn't like it initially but it's definitely growing on me. I'll probably pick it up once it goes on sale on Steam.

Finally got around to trying this. Gotta say, I miss the first one. Turning it into a roguelike has made it much less interesting for me.

The first one was a kickstarter funded game from a tiny studio that became a massive hit; if there was ever a need for the second game to be 'more of the same, just bigger, more in-depth, and better graphics' it was DD. Instead, they tried to do some new things and, in my mind, fell flat. I'm sure it was successful, but probably not as successful as the first one.

Yeah, there is a reason why people who stream these types of games (and rogue-likes) do new runs of DD1 and not DD2.

I like the art style. I like many of the combat mechanics. However, I "missed" much more than I liked.
- I miss building out a town for the meta progression
- I miss having the ability to grind to level up characters and get ready for bosses. I did not like having to do several runs to do the quests for skills for characters in DD2.
- I miss having characters I built up. Felt much more urgency losing a higher level team than losing a run in DD2.

It's not a bad game, but like was said, I wanted more DD1, which I think the vast majority did. As for sales, I do have a feeling that while DD1 grew massively in popularity over time, DD2 had its peak at launch. Think many feel the same, as there are 1110 people playing DD2 on Steam right now vs 5108 playing DD1. In terms of sales, there are also 17499 reviews of DD2 on steam at 72%. There are 126959 reviews of DD1 at 92%.

If there is a DD3, unless they are stupid, they look more at DD1 than DD2.

Big DD 2 patch recently, added a whole different play style where you are on a grid and have to defend Inns.

I liked DD 1, but it was hard to go to the end and not get sidetracked and either start over or move onto something else. I looked at DD 2 and the reviews here and other places weren't that great.

Yeah never tried 2. The animations and art looked incredible but making it a roguelike didn’t sound appealing at all. Reviews sucked and that sealed it. I still play dd1 once in a while but also lose interest in mid/late game and put it down.
