No idea why this is still on one of my hard drives. I think if I were to remove it that would give me a Blizzard free computer, no idea how many years it's been since that would be the case but it's gotta be about 15 at minimum.

But why? When was the last time serious content was released for this game?
Less then a year ago?

The Necromancer brought a new class, several new rift lay outs, like 6 new areas. It was a pretty hefty mini-expansion.

I said serious! Something like the necromancer should be the bare minimum for content every season/league/whatever. And definitely more polished than it was.

A sequel this "quickly" is unusual for blizzard. I think it's because they knew D3 was a fundamentally flawed game, particularly with the art direction. Even though the expansions tried to add a more gothic feel it still didn't capture the dark tone of the first 2. My guess is they are going to completely undo the WoW influence on the art and go back to Diablo's roots. I also think they will probably go with a more traditional skill tree system with some modern improvements. After seeing PoE's system I think they will go with something similar just less complex.

While I would love to see them go in this direction what gives you the impression that they have any indication to do so? So far Blizzard has doubled down hard from their roots. They shit on pretty much everything that came out of Blizzard North as well as all the workers there. The Wowification of everything that they make has caused some problems from a playerbase perspective but blizzard has yet to show and remorse for their directions.

Hopefully they take note from the graphical style of PoE and Grim Dawn.

No idea why they took the colorful route of making it so... cartoony? Style of D2 is the look you want to copy. Not D3.

That said, will probably end up being a Diablo battle royale with an even more overly saturated colour palette to match Fortnite.

I'm pretty sure they'll go with a buy + micro transactions model for the next Diablo, like they are doing for Overwatch.

I'm more curious if they'll turn it into an MMO like Lost Ark Online, Lineage Eternal(or whatever it's called now). The potential for micro-transaction is probably bigger that way.

And will they attempt to somehow turn Diablo into an esport.

Whatever direction they go with, I'm looking forward to it...regardless of their flaws, Blizzard games usually provide me with countless hours of gameplay.

I hope not. PoE makes me want to vomit.
