Why, that all of these black people are turning out to be evil demons that so clearly deserve death that the legal system doesn't have to be involved!

You're such a smart guy, you should have known what I was talking about.

I mean, I am seeing this stuff in a whole new light!

"On one hand its appalling that a cop caused a death of some guy who did not commit any violent crimes. On the other hand, i bet he did not choke him out for no reason. As soon as our dark skinned neighbors figure out that "keeping it real" when speaking to a cop usually ends bad, maybe cops will stop killing them."

I never thought about that before! Those uppity American Inventors should watch what they say to cops, and it's their own fault if they mouth off to a cop and get killed!

Dude, we talk ALL THE FUCKING TIME about black guys that get killed by cops that didn't deserve it. The problem is that the two times WHEN THEY DID DESERVE IT, the media decided to ignore the facts and racebait.

Seriously dude, do you completely ignore the cops thread?

I wish I could be as self-assured as you, to absolutely KNOW that your opinions about what happened in a situation you weren't personally involved in are correct! That there is zero ambiguity whatsoever about the fact that those American Inventors deserved to die, and that anyone who expresses doubt is not trying to be measured about their approach to a situation where there are a variety of stories about what happened and the motivations of those involved, but that they're actually just racebaiting!

That must be the key to getting internet points that I'm not getting.

Nah, I'm figuring it out. The key is to be completely convinced that you're correct and cast aspersions on the motivation of anyone who disagrees with you. Then you sit back and wait for other people who want internet points to join in and validate you.

It's so simple!

I'm not sure if you self-aware enough to realize this, but that is actually what you have already been doing. You are the one that is absolutely confident that these people were guilty, ignoring the evidence, and assuming that everyone else was racist.

So again, why the snide attitudes? Seriously man, engage in the threads. You don't have to shitpost in Amod in a tizzy. If you think people are jumping to judgement against Michael Brown, then go to the thread and post about it. If you see people posting racist stuff, report it or just ignore the idiots and talk with people trying to have a discussion about it.

Again, this forum HATES cops for the most part. Any argument against cops is going to get people on your side. Well, unless you start calling someone an angel and a gentle giant when there is a video available of him assaulting a store owner that he was robbing...

Anyway, real talk Khalid since you're at least being cool enough to engage me:

I hate a lot of what the media did during the Zimmerman thing, and during the Michael Brown thing. I hate all the rioting in Ferguson, too. It's stupid and counterproductive.

But there's still a lot of racism in this country, and even if you think that the events that happened in those two cases happened 100% as they should have (I don't, but that's not the point of this post), not everyone who is wanting to examine the racial factors in how this shit happens is "racebaiting". Some people honestly think that we still have a lot of work to do in race relations in this country even in 2014, and sometimes the color of someone's skin actually IS a factor in what happens to them, not just their actions.

The NYPD thing, in particular, makes me sick and people are already coming out to defend the cop in that situation, and it's a hell of a lot more clearcut than either Mike Brown or Trayvon Martin's situation was. The guy shouldn't have been so fat. He shouldn't have "kept it real" with the police officer. He must have done SOMETHING to deserve it.

It's fucking disgusting and it's being allowed to run rampant here.

See, that's the part that you're not getting. Yes, he clearly assaulted that store owner. Yes, he clearly had committed a crime. He deserved to face the appropriate consequences of those actions.

He also was a young kid who did the same sort of dumb things that a lot of people of all sorts of colors do at that age. But since he was a big black kid, the easy narrative is that he was a monstrous thug, beyond redemption.

Well, you know what? That picture of him in his school regalia, that everybody was complaining about? He was that kid, as much as he was also the kid who took a picture of himself with guns and money. He was a person. A person that made some really stupid choices and ended up dead because of it. It's sad and I don't think it's out of bounds to look at whether race was a factor in what happened to him.

Darren Wilson had previously worked for a police force that had to be disbanded because it was totally unable to deal with the heavily minority community it was supposed to protect and serve. His own words, describing Brown as a "demon", don't exactly paint a picture of a guy who deals well with minorities.

This is legitimate shit to examine. It's NOT legitimate to use things like this to pretend that Mike Brown had no responsibility for what happened to him. But it's also not legitimate to hand-wave any of these questions away and shout "racebaiting" at anyone who wants to stop and see if there are places we should improve.

I agree that there is plenty of racism in this country. The color of your skin definitely matters when cops pull you over.

However, it also isn't always racism that makes someone think "wtf, why didn't he just do what the cop told him to do!?". I was raised to always do what a police officer tells you or you will get stick time. That doesn't mean its RIGHT that it happens that way all the time, but its just how it is. Hell, Tummy has said the same shit, except he sees it as perfectly fine.

Sure, you are right, he is all those things. The media though, ONLY focused on the good side of him. The gentle giant, unarmed, never would hurt anyone. So OF COURSE on this forum, when a whole nother side of him comes out, are going to take the other side of it. That isn't racism, its a sign that our media was racebaiting the shit out of this story. Surely you agree with that?

His own words, describing Brown as a "demon", don't exactly paint a picture of a guy who deals well with minorities.
I'm not aware of any racist connotation to demon. He was using it as a word to describe someone in the midst of attacking him. Maybe he is a racist, but that quote by itself doesn't suggest racism at all to me.

Anyway, sorry for the multiquotes, but what Im saying is, then go into the thread and engage. Your first comments on this subject were in Amod saying the entire thread was a racist circlejerk, then you jumped into the thread and said the n-word. What was the point of all that?

You know what happens here, when you come in with a viewpoint that opposes the majority? Ask Tanoomba.

I made some pretty measured posts early on in the Zimmerman thing, saying things like that I didn't think there was enough evidence to convict him but that I also don't think he was blameless in a moral sense, and got jumped all over.

A lot of that thread has been a racist circlejerk, but mods refuse to take action because no one's actually saying the N-word. I think you can put together the rest.

Duppin thinks that it's normal for a black youth to rob stores, assault the owner, and take foolish pictures of himself with guns and money. What a racist.

Duppin, the key to be as racist as the most racist person on this board and still be hip is to make up your own racist words.
for example some people like saying chimpout but dont really care to get thrown in here with you and column, so they say chin pout which is nonsense, but safely conveys the same message. i have been messing with a new one but havent been angry enough to use it yet. Nucking Figgers! see how hip and cool i am? so why dont you be a savvy lil lemur and join the racist party with the rest of us grand kleagles?
