10 man is harder though, as the tax on what each person brings is higher (i.e., it's harder to have an optimal setup in 10man than 25, due to 'needing' so much more utility out of each player. this is why subpar specs are rarely used in 10, like most melee aside from pures).'Balanced' for whom? What do you mean by balanced?
Also 500 guilds cleared Lei Shen heroic, does not seem easy to me. All Warcraft did was to introduce multiple raid tiers because 97.5% or so of the subscribers never managed to finish a raid instance.
Is the argument here that Warcraft is easy because you have cleared in LFR? Is anyone here really arguing that Warcraft is easy at all? Warcraft has many flaws but the heroic 25 mans are as hard as they can be, only you get items that are colored purple sooner than in vanilla.
Or is the argument that you don't want other players to experience content unless they are hardcore and LFR should go?
Considering there is no info about this game, this thread has basically been the armchair dev thread like the greenmangaming one was on FoH. Shit had like a billion posts even though nothing about the game was known and it eventually didn't even release after the amalur shit. Tons of posts are just "I wish mmos were like this, my perfect mmo has this feature" which isn't related in anyway to EQNext really. Also, keep in mind that there's a lot of people who don't post in this thread regularly compared to 50+ posts per poster for some. There's a grip of people who will chime in with something, then the same wall of text folks who stretch the page counts out over and over. And of course, the faggot multiquoters. I hate that nonsense with a passion.
But yeah, EQ related stuff with always have tons of posts on a forum that originated (originally!) from an EQ guild's board. I can't wait for most of my predictions and ideas to be realized and to then hear from the EQ nostalgia crew about how terrible it is while they continue to remain subbed for years. The tears shall be delicious.
August 2nd is your best date during SoE Live.https://www.soe.com/soelive/Any info been released yet?
It goes both ways though. There's zero information out and people are considering it a dead game. When details are released and when the game is released there are going to be people that hate it, there's just no way around that. Tears will be there no matter what. You can't create a game that caters to everyone; especially EQ neckbeards. I'd say this probably is my last hope for MMO's besides the yearly EQ1 sub to get my nostalgia fix.Amazing really, there is literally zero info about this game, yet there is already a huge hype train and people clinging to it as their savior to the MMO genre.
Nailed it. This game is going to evoke strong reactions no matter what, but there are way too many people trying to validate their fixed opinion with a single piece of art. I get that years of shitty MMOs has made everyone jaded as shit, but it's too early to judge anything without a single in-game screenshot or even a slice of gameplay footage. It goes both ways though. As someone who played EQ2 pretty hardcore from Beta to Kunark the only thing I really hope for is geography that makes some sort of sense in comparison to the original. That was one of the most annoying things with EQ2, which was just very "immersion breaking". Besides that I'm pretty easy to please if it's called Everquest :-x
I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately that will probably not occur. As far as ideas put forth, the only game design I advocated hard for was one built on guild politics and alliances with all gear tied up in mobs that spawn at particular points on the land that can be controlled by guilds or alliances. The interplay and warring for those resources would be epic. No instances and no pvp balance over pve. No cap on group size.
Fixed!Worst case scenario is that I just say fuck it and finally commit hard to eve. The best spreadsheet app on the market ATM.
Maybe. I mentioned not making it full loot. I think done right the constant war and kill stealing would throttle gear acquisition and penalize death enough to make it scary. I'm not opposed to other penalties for death but I think you get a better chance of having if made if you can't loot players bodies of at least gear. All open to debate of course.I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately that will probably not occur.
I would really like a game based on resource control, but resources that aren't tied to people who like to spend all day crafting. That requires a decent PVP game in my opinion. I couldn't play a game where resources were PVE targets (spawns for gear) where PVP wasn't a part of that. Darkness Falls mechanics are cool things, open world dungeons that you not only have to pay attention PVE wise, but the possibility of ganks too.As far as ideas put forth, the only game design I advocated hard for was one built on guild politics and alliances with all gear tied up in mobs that spawn at particular points on the land that can be controlled by guilds or alliances.
