tl;dr: yeah, it's a miusmanaged IP, but the people that created it also fucked it up hard, sending it on that trajectory. Remember: Brad left AFTER Luclin.

True, but it's also an IP a lot of people know and like. Even when they're served with a free W from some EMU guys they still managed to turn that W into an L. Always short term profits or funneling money into other things over what's good in the long term.

If DBG could have made THJ, they would have made THJ. Stealing THJ and wearing it's skin like Buffalo Bill won't make it THJ and won't make them THJ money. In a fair and just world they would have hired the THJ guys and then shut down p99. The problem with EQL discourse is that it's polluted with the same brain dead MnM mmo sycophants. People can't disconnect themselves from the game and say "wow that fucking sucks" instead they go all bootlicker cuck chair mode like "hey that's what my wife's boyfriend decided and so take it or leave it, I guess I'll take it!"

You can play a game and still hate the developers, everything they stand for and ever decision they make. In fact, I think that is an important if not required part of any healthy MMORPG.

A guildmate posted this and we are more looking to see if we missed something, if its a bug, or if this is working as intended. He shared yesterday...

if your Primary class is a pet class, the summon has 50% less health.

He took the following screenshot and shared. Before this goes live, I was curious maybe we just got lost in all the theorycrafting or if folks have some insight to his finding. Sorry if this has already been discussed but wasn't sure about the answer.

Looks like a bug. If you pick up a primary pet class, your pet hp increases by 100%. Picking a primary pet class first screws you because the enc isn't a primary pet class, so you don't get the bonus 100% increase.

It's obviously unintended. Easy fix is simply increasing pet hp by 100% for every class you pick up that can summon a true pet.

(But until/unless they fix it you should never choose BL or Mage as your main)

I agree with the first sentence, and disagree with the second.

I, and a lot of the folks I am playing with, are playing EQL because we are having fun. That is what is important at the end of the day. The game is fun in its current form, and I will play it until that stops being the case.

Shitty people can and do make good games, music, tv shows, and movies. You can choose to avoid their products if you want to, or you can chose to enjoy them. No right or wrong answer there.

They said this will be fixed with the launch day patch so should be nothing to worry about if you plan to roll a pet primary class on the 28th.

If they're offering an option to pay to unlock class/races from the get go that shit best be account wide and not just character specific
I highly doubt it will be because they're greedy cunts but it should be.
You know it won't be. You've got all these people in here defending it on a nearly 3 decade old game with a box price and monthly subscription. When your customer base cares so little about their own money, why wouldn't you bleed them dry?

Tbf the box price plus the sub cost is next to nothing. I mean one night out at dinner with a couple old fashioneds equals the price of the game plus about a year worth of monthly sub fees.

It's not that people care so little about their money, it's just very difficult to get worked up over so little money.

Shit, taking my wife out to one movie and getting popcorn and a drink is roughly equivalent to the price of the game and a 4 or 5 months of play.

I'll get way, way more out of my money this way than I would with a 2 hour movie.

Not arguing on principle here (cash shops suck) just saying it's hard for me to care

It's about $60 where I am after taxes for 2 tix, 1 large popcorn, and 2 large drinks.

That's more or less the cost of the game and 4 months sub.

Edit: looked it up- after taxes it's more than $60, actually. One reason I don't go to the movies much.

Anyone get a read on how important Ogre stun resist is? This one of those "you'd be crazy not to play an ogre" servers?
It can be mitigated by any race, but it’s a large initial investment in AA. After your first trio to 50 the points cost won’t matter, but it’s hefty early.
I just have zero interest in playing ogre, so AAs it is.

Kinda is that type of server, but evasive stance / dropping the 22 AAs or whatever it is also works. Stuns are fuckin stupid though
