Look when you toss out hyperbole with ridiculous numbers it is really hard to take you serious even if I know in my heart of hearts you really love EQL and just want more content to keep the love going.

I didn't say that was the numbers for EQL. I was saying that to make a point. But that said EQL lost more players week 1 than Frostreaver did the first two months
EQ Legends — Server Population -66% ATM from peak already.
Frostreaver — Population Dashboard
EQL is on New World levels of player retention. The only thing that really saves it is it cost nothing to produce. If they made a good version of THJ they would not have had this problem. It's a bad game and they stepped over dollars to pick up pennies.

I'm just here to laugh at the lolcow herd that fell for it.

Warrior? The wiki has the grandmaster mini in hate as the guy that drops it, but if you're right that certainly explains it. I haven't done fear outside of the raid instance.
Tentacle Tormenters in PoF as well, just not the Indicolite (I believe).

Oh, no, we spent a few dollars on this project. God forbid.

Bring back THJ and I'll happily play that, but in the meantime, EQL is quite a bit of fun. I'll hit max level in another week or two, grind out some raids, maybe level up another couple of classes, and eventually get tired of it until they release new content. All in all it might cost me $50 or less. That's nothing, and I'll have enjoyed well over 100 hours of nostalgic entertainment and the chance to chat with a bunch of old EQ buddies from a few decades ago. Seems like a pretty decent value proposition for anyone interested in that kind of experience.

What is this, some sort of super ultra mega casual shit? You don’t even play 6 hours a day, good god.

The only way to build a casual/QoL-friendly MMO *and* keep the hardcore crowd engaged long-term is to build out a ton of content and be very clever about how you structure player progression through it.

EQL simply wasn’t in development long enough to do that cleanly before launch. But there’s a real chance they can get there over time as they add content and expansions. I think there’s a good chance they will, assuming the funding holds up.

FWIW, there is another way—but it’s probably the hardest path of all: good PvP.
