Fantasy Football 2013 Advice Thread

*edit Zac Stacy is another pick-up choice. I'm not expecting much out of him this week, but would be a much better option than McGahee moving forward.

I know it's an ugly choice. This is my 18-team league and these are the crucial bullshit decisions I have to make week-in, week-out.

I'm #1 in the waiver wire so I suppose I could pick up Pettis. Might not be a bad idea.

Should I pick up Peyton Hillis from FA since he signed with the Giants?

no.. Pickup Andre Brown if you're going to p/u a RB. He will be back for the Giants soon and those guys will prob get the axe. You can do that next week tho.. If you need a player this week, give Pettis or Ogbonnaya a try. Og seems to be the new receiving back there.

If you follow this thread you know I love Vernon. He's just on fire right now. I'd have a hard time benching him. I actually like MJD this week. They are some tough ones tho. Ideally you'd probably go RB at flex bc of all the touches but Vernon is getting a lot of targets.

Cutler has, shockingly, been one of the steadier fantasy QB's this season. But the Cowboys have been pretty generous to QB's in fantasy...hmmm. I'd probably go Cutler and then hate myself when Foles put up 10 more points.

Another close one. I think I would play it safe and go cutler. Just bc we still just don't know about Foles.. The more film on him the more Defenses find cracks. We know what we will get with Cutler.

Well as it turned out they were both shit choices but Foles would have been slightly better. I went with Cutler and ended up with -2 points from QB. Overall shitty football weekend for me, Ravens loss and lost on two out of three fantasy teams. Oddly enough I'm probably going to win the game with Cutler's negative points unless AP gets 20+ points tonight, which is certainly possible.

Yea.. My thinking was right just not way to predict an injury. Had he not gotten injured he would of destroyed Foles.

This ended up being a great week for me. Even though I didn't make the right roster moves (started Morris over Jackson and Newton over Stafford) I am going to end up crushing my opponent and have a chance to have the highest scoring week of the season, which is worth a prize in my league if it holds up.

My bench is going to end up outscoring 7 or the 10 teams in my league this week.

Also, fuck Shanahan. 3 TD's for Helu, wtf? This better not become a thing.

Reggie Wayne out for the season could be devastating for one of my teams. Thankfully, Dalton has put up eliteAF numbers the past two weeks. I might have to finagle a trade to continue to have relevance. 6-1 record is cushy, but I'm worried about that injury.

Ha had a very similar week.. Most points scored all year this week and I'm leading in total points.. I think I'll be in 2nd when it's all said and done.. RG3 is coming around at a nice time for me. I have a lot of byes coming up with Dez, Megaton, Vernon and Julius Thomas. Hopefully I can makeup those numbers elsewhere.

Got to plug-in someone for Richardson this week. Mike James (Doug Martin's replacement playing on Thursday night) or Peyton Hillis (playing against Philly). I think James might be better for the rest of the season, but I think Hillis is the better play this week...thoughts?

What kind of league are people in where Ridley is getting dropped?

As far as James vs. Hillis the safer pick is James. Even against a good Carolina defense James will get touches, and he's involved in the passing game. The NYG backfield has been a mess all season and there are some rumblings Jacobs could be back this week (although it isn't likely). James playing on Thursday makes it rough because we probably won't know if Jacobs will be playing until Sunday. If you sit James make sure you have an alternative to Hillis for Sunday just in case.
