Wtf do all the bats live? So I go for a walk every evening. See lots of bats flying around, easily a few dozen on the 2-3 mile walk.

But ive literally never seen a bat any other time. Ive never seen them roosting in trees or under a porch or anything. And this is in the middle of Phoenix so there arent any caves or cliff sides for them to fuck off to.

As a former tile roofer, I can guarantee there are some living in peoples roofs.

Some attics will have hundreds of bats. At dusk they just start dropping out from the roof eaves or around the soffit and fly away to go hunting.

I don't think you understand what tight spaces they prefer to live. Look at the dimensions of a bat house. The roosting chambers are usually between .75" and 2" wide.
