It seems cool but it actually sucks. It's why every shot in the Mandalorian looks so fake. There's just nothing better than real sets and practical effects.

I don't disagree with your point, but as a fan of gaming, tech, and movies, this is still really cool.
the uncanny valley problem will continue to exist, of course.

I'd argue that this gen of spec effects is still relatively in its infancy, considering that we've only been able to drive 4k monitors at high frames for a couple of years now. these guys are doing it on soundstages with RTX and live camera control integrated with the gaming engine. fidelity will only continue to improve, and quickly. imagine the capabilities for VR experiences.

This feels like the best place for this. Galaxy brained Linus of Linus Tech Tips(which theoretically is a channel that reviews hardware/tech) bans his employees nor his employee FAMILY MEMBERS from owning stock in most major tech companies and any business which LTT happens to engage with;

If they count ETF's and mutual funds it would be hard to have a portfolio nowdays that didn't include some if not most of those.

Yeah, he'd better supplement an average 8-9% interest rate on their savings accounts if they can't invest while employed.

Does he offer a 401k? If so, what does it buy?

This is probably some CYA policy against insider trading, but this is way too broad.

I wouldnt be surprised if the guy has no idea what those are.

Hes really an idiot thats in a position he has no idea how to handle. Its clear if he wasnt a Youtube darling existing in a highly astroturfed space he would not be anywhere near successful. This isnt the first time hes made some incredibly stupid business choices. Last year it was him basically saying "trust us bro" on warranties for expensive merch they recently launched when questioned on why they dont explicitly offer a warranty.
