Then they wouldn't be working so hard to say in all interviews that he is dead.
Well he is technically dead at this moment in production, so the cast is just commenting on his current status. Don't think anyone said hes not coming back though.

If he comes back as a white walker, hes still dead also.

If hes resurrected, well hes dead until that's done.

Pretty sure Melesandra sees herself walking on the walls of winterfell with John as he reclaims it. (released from night watch oath at death)

And I think that is key. Jon is loyal as fuck and he wasn't going to break his vows to the watch, he wouldnt even do it for Winterfell.

So him dying and subsequently rezzed, relieves him of having to break his oath, as well as having a new found outlook on life...or afterlife? Either way he is gonna be a badder dude.

Ya, but Cersei is crazy as fuck. Do you honestly think Ned would go around on a rape spree?
this is very true, but the rumor came from somewhere, i doubt her crazy ass could have thought it up right then and there, specially mentioning ashara dayne. look i am not saying one way or the other that she is jon's mom. im just saying that if the show pulls a wtf and goes that way instead of R+L=J which is widely theorized, just dont be too shocked.

Ashara being the mother is chronologically possible, it just still doesn't make sense why Ned would refuse to say who the mother is. Also, why would he be important enough for Mel to bring back if he's just the bastard of a dead Stark and a dead noblewoman from one of Martell's bannermen? Plus, what else would the secret that Lyanna made Ned swear to keep be?

'Ned, my dearest brother, as I lay dying here, there is only one wish foremost on my mind. Delete...my...browser history........'

Plus if the seven kingdoms are spreading that Ned fathered/stole Ashara's baby then all the better to hide JT's identity. Hell might have started it himself.

that also sparked another theory, R+L=D. dany being the actual child of lyanna and rhaegar. "the promise" was keeping dany safe from harm because robert would stop at nothing to have her killed, which we see later on as happening. ned was so pissed off that he resigned as hand of the king. .

again, i am not saying this shit is true, but the show is keeping shit very vague and this season we see that dany has had exposition with barristan about the events leading up to the ToJ

Oh god just shut up. How the fuck would Daenerys have gotten from the Tower of Joy to Dragonstone in time for Ser Willem to evacuate her and Viserys to Braavos? Viserys would have been 8, he would have known Daenerys wasn't his sister and wouldn't have blamed her for their mother's death. Also, Ned would have done a shit awful job honoring that death-bed promise to his sister to protect his niece by leaving her to wander the free cities for years as penniless beggars until Illyrio took them in.

Oh god just shut up. Just shut up. Shut up.

if you can stop being a jerk for a moment, try and think why viserys would think so lowly of his sister that he would see her sold off to some manscara barbarian in order to raise an army. sure, its not a perfect theory, but neither is the jon is a secret targ theory. we will have to wait and see what unfolds and please try to keep an open mind

I can only guess why Viserys thought so little of Daenerys.

Dany is also clearly a pure Targ though right with the purple eyes and white hair. And Viserys didn't seem to care about anybody or anything except being King, so his motivations for treating Dany badly can start and end there.

i didnt invent the theory, i dont subscribe to it, but i do think its got the same strengths and weaknesses as any of the other million theories. its like people claiming tyrion is a swcret targ and the third dragon just because aerys was horny for his mom and tyrion has miscolored eyees

No, it sure as fuck doesn't.

Jon Snow/Theories - A Wiki of Ice and Fire - A Song of Ice and Fire Game of Thrones

If it's not one of those it has no credibility at all, and even from those, the Fisherman's Daughter and the Wylla theories are incredibly weak. Ashara Dayne as the mother is only slightly stronger than those theories. Lyanna and Rhaegar as Jon's parents makes too much sense for it to be anything else. The only way it turns out differently is if the fat man is butthurt about people figuring out all the clues too soon, so he changes Jon's mother to just some random tavern whore out of spite.

This is what happens when you don't beat down Astr0creep daily and let him think the theories he sees on YouTube make sense.

He is the same as Lumie pulling proof of 9/11 from Back to the Future but he bases his stupid conspiracies on TV shows and not reality ...

It really does not have the same strengths and weaknesses. Probably time to let that one go.

The sad thing is I could totally see George pulling the ol' bait and switch on us here. Not because that's what he intended, but because of what Gav explains above with him just getting pissy that the internet ruined his story. If that happens, astro gets to say he told us so.

Unfortunately, when the world ends on 9/23, Lumie won't get the chance to do the same since we'll all be dead or at least the internetz won't exist anymore or something.

the biggest is that jon is not blonde in any way possible. or heat resistant or has visons of dragon stuff. i actually do believe that john is probably a secret targ, but i also think it could very likely be something else. GRRM likes to fuck with people's expectations, so in all honesty i wouldnt be surprised jon was ned or brandon's kid and the heir to the sword of the morning. i actually would rather believe that over yet another targaryen wandering around. its like the daleks, when you think you stamped them out, another fucking cult of skaro comes out of the woodwork to fuck up your day.

For starters, the fucking sword's name is Dawn. 'Sword of the Morning' is a title bestowed upon a knight of House Dayne deemed worthy of wielding the sword. Dawn is just a fucking greatsword. The only difference between Dawn and Ice is that Dawn is really fucking old and made of something that is analogous to Valyrian Steel, but isn't Valyrian Steel.

If Jon is the child of Ashara Dayne, then he's just the bastard son of one of the lesser houses of Westeros. One of the pre-eminent lesser houses, but still a lesser house. He wouldn't be the heir to anything, because he was the child of Ashara, not Arthur. Even if he was Arthur's child, the sword was never Arthur's property, it always belonged to the house. House Dayne would turn him away at the door, assuming they didn't clap him in irons and hand him over to Prince Doran, although he'd be so worthless I doubt Doran could find any use for him.
