It feels like after the show runners used what GRRM wrote up to that point (admittedly I havent read the book), afterwards they basically just took the path of least resistance to finish writing the conclusion. the only problem with that is that it makes for really shitty plot because the plot is written with author's omniscient knowledge of all character motivations and expectations. so its basic, boring and predictable.
i actually rewatched the first 4 seasons (first time since i watched them originally several years ago) over the past week while working and was pleasantly surprised how well this show held up and how many more little things i caught now that i know so much more about the show.
in a way it kinda sucks that a really nuanced, complicated and intricate show is basically getting phoned in, in the last 14 hours
Martin is probably a genius, he can come back and say HBOs shit ending isnt cannon and write a book that 90 million people will buy that unfucks this season.
GRRM probably no longer gives a shit about GoT. I mean his last book was mostly filler and nothing of substance...
why can't we get people like Tolkien and make a true legend. instead we get fraudsters who give us a taste of the good and then just fuck us all over.
jesus that was excruciating, they hit you over the head like we are so stupid we cant remember what happened last week.Speaking of predictable, when Jon read the letter saying that Daenerys wanted him to come to Dragonstone, I said to my wife "Well that's convenient!" I mean holy shit, c'mon! How many fucking signs are they going to give that that's what he was going to do? Maybe that's why the Sansa scene was so grating to me.
everyone is focusing on the lack of trees, but the biggest problem with his fleet is that even if you had limitless wood and shipbuilders, you still need to wait a year or so for that green fucking wood to dry out because all those ships would sink when the wood started warping. Is there a concept like Deus ex machina but for threats? It's still really hard to take Euron seriously since the time, materiels, and men do not exist on the iron islands, even ignoring the recent reaving losses.
im 99% certain this is how martin planned to end the story, but he would have probably made it a little bit nuanced and complex in the books, instead of so straightforward

A year? More like 5. And you cant mill wet lumber for shit.
plus takes another 1-5 years to build each ship. which means you need 1000 drydocks running concurrently

ep1
Jon: we need to find dragon glass and mine it to defeat the WW and NK
Samh snap there is a mountain of dragon glass under dragonstone, just like stannis told me two seasons ago. funny how i forgot that. send a raven to jon ASAP!
ep2
Daeny: send a raven to jon snow inviting him to dragonstone.
Daeny's raven arrives
sam's raven arrives.
jon: i just got two letters, samwise says there is a mountain of dragonglass at dragonstone, oh and i also got a letter from daeny inviting me to dragonstone. i am asking her if we can borrow some because we need to find dragon glass and mine it to defeat WW and NK.
that was herpderp shit dialogue and it didnt stop there. how the fuck qyburn would know drogon was injured in the fighting pits?
the mulatto girl's tittays were very nice.i didnt want to see BBC, but i was curious if they were going to retcon GW's penis back on him for that scene.
the best though was euron literally dropping the boom on asha and those horrible fucking sand snakes, i swear that was fucking awesome, his maniacal laugh made up a lot for this shit. it wasnt a bad episode really cept for the SJW shit and the dialogue, i was satisfied that tyrion called obarra or whatever that cunt's name for murdering his niece. they broke the same rules as the freys and needed to pay for it.
and we all know that daeny is going to be the queen of ashes becuase it was in her vision of the future.
Hyenas have female pack leaders but she also has a feminine penis. Spotted hyena - WikipediaCan a female wolf be a pack leader?
Seems like some SJW bullshit.

So if the show is gonna be super linear because Martins work isnt being used anymore, HBO is gonna be salty they gave the 2 hack showrunners a greenlight for their America still has Slavery show. True Detective S2 INC!
