Dota being free? League being pay for heroes/earn then semi slowly through playing. Looks like even slower and worse price gauging than Riot's system. Obviously this could change but $10 for like 5 of the heroes? $20 for a rainbow mount? The fuck bros? Dota has some expensive cosmetics as well so that isn't terrible I suppose.
Currently the heroes are in a ballpark of $150. Also, that preorder Demon Hunter you get for D3 is in the cheapest tier, surprise!

As I said I had never played DoTA, so I had no idea how they made money, if it is through cosmetics then I am not surprised they are "expensive". People will always pay a premium to stand out. As for it being slower then LoL, likely due to the number of heroes available (maybe), gotta figure if there were as many as League it would be faster.

Well everyone always says Valve has the infrastructure to support having free heroes. I'd argue that Riot is at that point by now but they still charge.. like an asshole company would. Blizzard definitely has the infrastructure to support free heroes but you know ActiBlizz.

From my understanding you don't gain gold per match unless it was changed over night. Its for leveling up and completing quests which aren't usually done in just one match.
Obviously everything is subject to change, but rarely do business models change or change drastically.

Both JP and TB are terrible at video games. So unless you're playing against them and losing should you be concerned.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. Watching Kripp play is frustrating to say the least.
When you start the game do they have a bunch of free heroes and them premium unlocks? Can I get Raynor out of the gate? Awesome siege tank dude?
if you truly think that these graphics in 2014 are good then I don't know what to tell you

Oh one nice part of the game: Try Me. Select a champ from the roster and you'll see 3 buttons: Try, 5500g, $7.49. Try spawns a mini-map with Arthas as an opponent. Top left you get 4 buttons: Toggle Minions, Refresh Forts (heal structures), Reset Heroic (Ult's are a choice of A or B ult and this lets you repick) and Clear Cooldowns.

obviously not and it doesn't look quite as good as Dota, except for the quality of animations maybe

I watched some of that game, it just seemed the other team had a much better grasp of the map. They already had their 2nd ghost ship and yall didn't have any coins towards your second. And actually it didn't look like jp and tb were doing too terrible, jp landed most of his hooks. But I didn't see anyone else on their team do anything, they turned in all the coins and noone was in bot lane for a majority of that game, you have to have at least one hero in the lane to get the xp from the creeps.

FWIW, most blizzard games have had graphical improvements from alpha/beta to launch. But I agree graphics look fine as is, but I said the same thing about hearthstone, but the graphic overhaul they did sure did make it purdier.
