Everytime I think about this thread I feel terrible. I can't imagine doing that and basically losing that much money from my family. This is one of those situations where if the law isn't going to help you, take the law into your own hands. I keep envisioning the movie "Walking Tall" with the Rock in it. Get a stick and go.

The last used car we bought was from this shady dealership. I knew we shouldn't do it, but the car ran good, body was solid, and my g/f had cash to buy it. Couple days later, it wouldn't pass inspection. After failing 2 times, I got pissed. I went to my g/f's work, told her the car failed again, and she started crying on the spot. It was only $3000, but it's still a lot of money and she felt like she wasted it. I called up the dude from within her parking lot basically going fucking apeshit. I screamed so loud, my car was shaking all around, didn't let him get a word in. In the end he said "why don't you come down here, me and my buddies will fuck you up." I don't remember what I said, but I told him "no" in some more words and told him I didn't appreciate being threatened by a car dealer. In the end I scared the guy with talks of cops going down there, so he fixed every tiny thing wrong with the car and gave me the broken parts back in the trunk to prove that he replaced them.

This story doesn't relate so much, but I just felt like telling it. First and only time a car dealer threatened to kick my ass.

I have the car checked out Monday and it has issues with its airbag systems, all the computers need to be replaced, and it will cost $3,297 (This is from the Ford Dealership, I would guess I could find that cheaper). Annoying, but my own fault and not really relevant to the rest of the story.

You are getting fucked around on that too, unless it needs an all new airbag wiring harness and new ECU/Airbags, I doubt it costs that much. It's a Ford Focus, FFS.

yeah I had to quit using craigslist altogether, last 4 times I tried to sell something I got spammed by fucking nigerians begging me to send them shit and they would "paypal" me later

Sold several things on Craigslist, including my last car. Wife bought her's off that site too. She got a STEAL on hers because the 3 people that looked at it previously didn't like that (due to being from Canada) the odometer was in KM and it had km/h on the outside of the speedometer (haha dumb ass San Fransicans!). They took it to her mechanic, he looked it over, said "he's asking how much?" and told her to grab it before he came to his senses. Dude told us he was paying about $600/month in garage fees for a car he never drove, why he was getting rid of it. She's had it 4? years now, and it's running as good as ever. Craigslist is what you make of it.
