Our species is literally on track for self inflicted extinction. The fertility crisis is much worse than popular media admits, this article does a very good job of laying out the problem.

BUT it ignore variation across populations. It exclusively looks at national averages and global average.

The Amish arent having a fertility crisis. The Muslims arent having a fertility crisis. The Mormons arent having a fertility crisis. (Lets not even get started on inner city blacks)

This is the single largest selective event in the history of humanity. For years I compared it to the black plague but that was way underselling it. The genetic composition of the human race in 200 years will look profoundly different than it does today. We (mainstream modern, Western, White civilization) have lost and there is no mathematically realistic path out of our decline.

The 2 main categories for high birth rates are

1) Uneducated and poor
2) Religious people who think god will reward them for breeding like rabbits

Those two categories also overlap a lot

Putting aside whether you believe in any religion, I don't think thats a fair summary of their behavior or motivation.

Having enough kids to put the population well above replacement levels is what happens naturally if you just fuck and don't interfere with the process. And its generally interfering with the process that religions object to, not rewards for maximizing the number of kids.

That's describing the lifetime of the catalyst before the reaction turns unstable, still a smaller volume produced than precious metals and only works in lower current reactions. Not a holy grail but it is cheaper and lasts longer than what we had before. Platinum and iridium still far better and the mainstay for commercial/industrial purposes.

You have the super jews who have like half a dozen kids each (think Shapiro and his ilk), you have muslims in general, and then you have mormons. That's a pretty wide range of relative intelligence, but I think it basically kind of comes out as a wash overall. The smarter jews procreate and are negated by the muslims that procreate, while the mormons are just kind of nice to get along with but not super geniuses or anything.

The real issue is the uneducated catholics. Your latins and your religious blacks. They are absolutely popping out way more children than they can afford to, and it isn't even close to any other actual ethnicity.

And then there are the whites and asians. You know, the literal categorically smartest of all the ethnicities... and we are unbreeding ourselves out of existence. Because of super retarded reasons like climate change and racism.

No, dummies. Generate children, create pylons, and build superior technology. The Protoss have many lessons to teach.

We've replaced natural childbirth with elective cesarean sections, and replaced natural breastmilk with formula made of seed oils and bullshit. It seems disingenuous to frame this as some kind of gradual and inevitable result of improving sanitation.

I read awhile back that some hospitals were trying to swab babies delivered via c-section with bacteria normally present in the vaginal cavity during a normal birth. Basically the hypothesis/study was that babies missing out on that exposure had weakened immune systems/less diverse gut micro flora and were more susceptible to things like allergies or illness as an infant
