If you like hamburgers the Gordon Ramsey BurGR place at Planet Hollywood is awesome.

Any recommendations on a hotel downtown/Freemont St? I know it used to be a dump there but I was told that there's some not too bad places to stay for cheap.

Wife and I always stayed on the strip but our next trip we're getting in late (8PM local) and dont want to spend a ton of money on a hotel that we'll be in for less than a couple hours.

The wife and I will be staying there in late Sept, I have heard the mob museum is supposed to be pretty cool and we are seeing Penn and Teller. Other good recommendations to pull off in a few weeks time? Will not really have access to a car, and staying at the Rio which has shuttles to the strip.

My favorite show out there, which is good for everyone, is Cirque Du Soleil, Ka. It's expensive. Expect to pay around $100 per ticket, but the show is amazing. The entire stage lifts, twists, pivots and other shit. Costumes are great, as well as the "Cirque" acrobatics and shit like that. It's a great show.

So that's my suggestion. It's at the MGM Grand.

Last time we were there we had dinner at Bardot in Area and saw Le Reve at The Wynn. Both of which were absolutely stellar.

I was a little bored by Le Reve. It was too much of a love story, compared to the others which are awesome for the sake of being awesome. Best part of Le Reve is the high dive though. That was impressive.

Golden Nugget is solid, if you must stay in Fremont area.

Downtown Las Vegas | Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino

One of my favorites (And many locals go there) is The Orleans on Tropicana (Not downtown but very inexpensive and clean.

Request Rejected

Also , regarding burger joints, my opinion is "In and Out" or nothing.

We decided on the Fremont Hotel and Casino for our arrival night. Looked clean, central to everything downtown, less than 50 bucks total.

Here's our agenda thus far... Feel free to add recommendations or warnings.

1st Night (Fremont St Hotel)
- See Fremont St lights
- Let her zip line (ya, I know)
- Go look at the fatties at Heart Attack Cafe (I went with a friend and watched him eat a quadruple bypass. I was nauseous the whole time)
- Take a pic at Binions with $1M
- Play some cheap table games
- Cheap Drinks
- Cheap Sex
- Cheap food at Binions or some place similar
- Rub Buddha's Belly

Second Day (Cosmopolitan)
- Poker Tourney
- Lunch (?)
- Top Golf
- Drink
- Rides at top of Stratosphere
- Dinner at Capo's Speakeasy
- Watch Bellagio fountains from our terrace
- Hit the clubs (Ghost Bar, Moon, LAX, etc)
- Drunk sex with pictures

Third & fourth day (Venetian)
- Absinthe and possibly another Cirque show
- Lunch TBD/ (Some buffet at least once)
- Fine dining TBD (possibly é, Raku, Bouchon, Sage, SB Brasserie?
- Watch sports (Bowl Games) at Laggase Stadium
- Drinks
- More Clubbing (TAO, Tryst, etc)
- Helicopter ride of Grand Canyon?
- More cheap sex
- Possibly get married again by Elvis at some drive thru
- Gamble on last day

That's just stuff we thought of while sitting around

Sounds like you're going to be very busy.

If you like Buffets, the one at the Wynn is my absolute favorite. It's got some legendary shit in there. Best I've ever encountered, but it better for $40/person.

Not nearly enough gambling on that itinerary. You've been to Vegas before, right? So you know you'll be able to keep the gambling to a minimum?

If not, please post how it really went down when you get back.

Vegas is so weird. Not a lot of other places where I think "I just basically set fire to $500 in 15 minutes, let's go get drunk and try it again".

I used to go to Vegas on business 3-4 times a year. I find that if I save my gambling to the last day I'm not tempted to go "win my money back"

Back in my younger days I'd hit the blackjack table the first night and be down 200. I'd end up going back over and over trying to get back to even. Sometimes I did but most of the time Vegas suckered me.

Now I'll just do a poker tourney a couple times since it's a flat entry fee usually less than $75

I've never understood why people gamble, at least against the house. Do it long enough, and you will lose. Pretty much no matter what. Are people just bad at math? I mean if you get good entertainment value out of spending a few hundred bucks in an hour or two at a table, that's all good. But I'd rather spend that money on a lap dance. Or a meal, show, whatever. Pretty much anything else. I watch my buds gamble, especially the Asians, and I just can't figure out why they do it. They look miserable when they get up from the table 90% of the time. But I guess that 10% of the time is enough to keep them coming back.

There's no thrill better than being at a hot craps table, bruh. And I include both blowjobs and cheese when I say that.

For real though, most people are dumb about it. I'm not. Can't remember if there was ever a time I didn't at least break even on the gambling in vegas. I always have a budget that I'm willing to lose each day and each time I belly up to a table (probably about half of my entertainment budget). When that money is gone, I stahp and hit some shows or clubs or something. If I'm there long enough, I will eventually get ahead and I'm smart enough to pocket my original stake as soon as that happens and then not dip into previous days winnings to fund future gambling.
