Yeah, basically what Hoss said but extended to Blackjack for me. The times where you get your balls handed to you are easily masked by the Mr. Toads Wild Ride of getting a hot hand and just murdering the table. I do a similar thing to Hoss in that, if I walk up and put down 300 bucks or whatever, any chips that exceed that 300 go directly in my pocket and then eventually when I see a chain of cold cards, I just call it.

I've never understood why people gamble, at least against the house. Do it long enough, and you will lose. Pretty much no matter what. Are people just bad at math? I mean if you get good entertainment value out of spending a few hundred bucks in an hour or two at a table, that's all good. But I'd rather spend that money on a lap dance. Or a meal, show, whatever. Pretty much anything else. I watch my buds gamble, especially the Asians, and I just can't figure out why they do it. They look miserable when they get up from the table 90% of the time. But I guess that 10% of the time is enough to keep them coming back.

There is a bit of an adrenaline rush when you do hit a big hand or get on a streak. I've had friends who share the same opinion but they tend to be strict penny pinchers or just too financially strapped to see money utilized so flippantly. We make pretty good money so dropping $200 at a table once while at Vegas isnt going to upset us that much. I only get upset if I get knocked out in 10 minutes or less. I like meeting and talking with other people while playing. Hoss is correct that if you find a great group of characters at a hot Craps table then it's like you all are instantly best friends. I tend to play a lot of no limit Hold 'Em because I can usually make 150 bucks last for hours if I play conservatively. Only once did I sit down at a poker table and get busted out in 5 minutes when my pocket kings got beat by a lucky river flush.

We always make a rule to go see 1 show and eat at 1 nice restaurant before gambling. If we happen to win at gambling, then we see it as our dinner/show was free.

It's funny that I dont ever really want to go to Strip Clubs while out in Vegas. I'll go if I'm with a bachelor party or something, but throwing money at some chick to pretend to be interested in what I have to say just doesnt float my boat. I love tits and ass as much of the next guy but I rather go to a nightclub in Vegas where my batting average for actually sleeping with a hot chick has been around .750. When I first took my wife to Vegas she wanted to go to a strip club so we went to Sapphires. There was a $20 cover for me, a drink was around $15, and then you add lap dance fees that my wife paid for. She bought me a dance from some big tit blond and she was pretty and all but just way too fake personality wise. If I want that, then I'll go to a Hooters or Twin Peaks where I can at least get some wings with faux-attraction.

Not that weird. Vegas strip clubs are the worst I've ever seen. I don't think I ever went to sapphires, but I tried a few.

I've made a living from gambling for the last 14 years. My average hourly rate used to be nearly $250/hr, now it's around $80/hr where I play, but that's poker.

Playing against the house is fucking dumb though. Every time you bet $100 in a slot machine, pretend it costs you $4. That's how it works.

Do it 100 times and you've lost $400.

...have fun though. And it's not Vegas without hookers.

Walked into one for 15 minutes a few years ago. Left as quick as I could get a cab.

Huge, Loud and terrifyingly overpriced Alcohol.

Well my flight was delayed and I can't get another until it's too late and will miss my cousins wedding. They are going to refund me through credit and I have to use it in 90 days so I'm booking yet again for Halloween weekend.

Anyone looking to meet up let me know. I will be renting a car to do some desert things in the day. (Red Rocks, Mt Charleston, maybe Zion).

You think that's bad, order water instead. Costs the same as alcohol.

Why would you go into a strip club in Vegas when you can get the real thing for cheaper?

Every girl from around the girl that is beautiful, and is in that line of work, ends up in Vegas.

Yeah they were all hot, but I can find a drunken 20 something at Tao and actually bang her for free.

Vegas call girls look better than almost any girl you'll pick up in a bar.

I've never seen such beautiful women in my life. This is the cream of the crop from all over the globe man, you can't beat that. You just have to know where and how to look. There's a lot of uglies mixed in.

I would never do that kind of thing anywhere else in the United States other than Vegas.

I have a really hard time laying down cash on a table game or burning it in a slot. Every now and then I'll throw $20-40 bucks in a slot for shits and giggles but I can't do any of that shit for long. I do really enjoy poker tournaments. You have a fixed cost to get in and if you play right, you can make it to the final table and win a little. If you don't, you know going into it that you're paying a fixed cost for a couple of hours of entertainment. At some places, they even bring you free drinks while you are playing in them so that helps.

Vegas, for me, is just about walking around and watching people and being in awe of the spectacle that it is. Some days, I just walk from casino to casino with my crew, maybe play a little poker, hit some bars, and bet on whether hookers to proposition us. I'd never pay for their services but it's a hoot to have a 10 come up and ask you if you are DTF.

It can also be fun to go to some of the sports books and bet on some races and watch some games.

Also, several of the best meals of my life have been there.

So I am going to be in Vegas for UFC 205. Any suggestions on where to watch it?

I have called a bunch of the sportbooks (ie Caesar's, MGM, etc) and they are all saying that they will only have the undercard on since it is free. I guess they don't want to pay however many of thousands of dollars to buy the ppv.

Really? That's surprising. I like the Venetian sportsbook a lot.

Double check on those confirmed locations. If RedRock confirms they are showing it, that's the best sports book in town. The bar there is really nice.
