Whose ready to come on down to Goodsprings with me?

Doing P & T tonight pretty stoked. That’s about the only thing I’ve never done. We got a suite at the Linq.

New Vegas cruise is Friday.

The first week of April, I'm interested in going to Vegas to go watch the World Championship of Curling. It's being held at the Orleans. Here is where I could use some help. They have hotel/ticket packages for the entire week for $1600 and I have to think there are much better ways to get this done.

Rooms - I've heard comps have changed a lot over the past few years. I wouldn't mind making a trip to Vegas sometime in February to try to build up some comps. I mostly play poker but I'm guessing that's horrible for comps. I also like to play craps. Is feeding a bunch of money thru video poker and trying to break even on that the way to go? From talking with some friends, I get the impression that it's not bad to build up a couple of free nights at a hotel, but more than 2 at a time is hard. So some have comps at multiple hotels and will stay for 2 days here and 2 days there. I'm open to that if anyone knows which hotels are generally better with comps.

Tickets - For the tickets directly thru ticketmaster, it's about $50 a day. For a curling tournament that surely won't sell out, I would think there is a cheaper option. Can I just buy these randomly while in Vegas like I would one of the other fancy shows?

Thanks in advance

Tables in general are bad for comps unless you spend thousands at a time. Get a slot card somewhere you like to play where the point system isnt fucked up and you will get better comps, somewhere like Wynn or Cosmpolitan.

It is way cheaper to just buy the tickets and hotel rooms separately, they price gouge the packages.

Is there any place where point systems are posted? Any recommendations on where I can buy tickets outside of thru Ticketmaster?

Any fun video game or arcade bars to hit up? I'm heading there after work to visit a really good friend from the WoW days and I'm thinking of shit to do tomorrow. He's lived there for two years but lives nowhere close to the strip. Tonight we're going to a poker spot really close to his place, but tomorrow we just have dinner reservations at Lago and I'd like to hit O or something afterwards. Most of Sunday (I don't head back to SF until early Sunday evening) and Saturday day we have no plans.

Pinball Hall of Fame was lots of fun when I went there several years ago.

Completely forgot the WSOP was going on so we took advantage of the fantastic action at the poker tables. I've never played so much. It's literally been half the time I've been here. So fun.

Why the fuck are there so many Chinese people and browns in Vegas now? And why does everyone have their fucking dog? Been a decade since I’ve been here and damn, I don’t remember it being this bad.

Mob Museum is dope, though, and the speakeasy underneath it is great. Can’t find a fucking $5 table for craps anymore, even at the off strip spots I used to frequent once the Stratosphere got rid of theirs. The exhibits in the Sphere were pretty lame, but the movie was decent just for seeing it on that big screen with the wind effects, etc. Great footage and cinematography, just a bit preachy.

Lost Spirits Distillery is one of the coolest attractions I’ve seen. Inside you get rum tastings plus a self-wandering tour of multiple stages that rotate acts throughout the night, including burlesque, magic, acrobatics, etc. This is fucking awesome and a great goddamn time. Highly recommend.

More hotels are trying to be "pet friendly" but then you have dogs taking a shit wile going through the casino which seems like a major health hazard.

Only place you can find 5 dollar tables would have to be downtown, maybe Binions or something. Strat trying to be all fancy after they got their casino redone but it's still a shit hole with hobos and hookers all over.

I checked out the new Durango hotel and it is boring as shit. Ate at one of the restaurants and the service was horrible. Clusterfuck parking and it being next to freeway offramp causing so much traffic around the area.

Went to the Golden Nugget and lowest I could find was $10 craps. Ended up not doing too bad and only lost $100 for an hour of entertainment, so I usually consider that a win. Still, so many fucking dogs. Why the fuck would you bring them? Seems like it’d be such a pain in the ass. Also, again, Lost Spirits A+++++++ go to that shit if you haven’t.

The dude that built the Circa is buying up a lot of Freemont thats why the tables are all raising the minimums. If you want consistent $5 Blackjack the only one I know of is El Cortez, its dated inside but the dealers are good.
