Probably not viable anymore. Spot checking through my characters about half of abilities I had full trees in were wiped. They’ve changed quite a bit in the past year.

Yeah I can't remember a single launch day for anything that wasn't a shitshow in the past 10+ years. Granted I skipped the last few PoE leagues but I remember for quite a long while when I was playing every league, it was a clusterfuck for at least the first day if not the first 2-3 days of every single one. Can't think of a single MMO that wasn't a mess, or any other genre. Saying it's a "small amount of players" doesn't mean much. Is a small studio on a low exposure game supposed to prep for millions of players as if it was some massive title?

PoE launches have been pretty smooth for about a year. I think their last mishap was 3.15(almost 1.5 years and 6 leagues ago) where one manual task(migrating past league characters to standard) wasn't done ahead of time. So it was done implicitly when someone signed into their account for the first time post launch. The database took a giant shit.

So update on my low level character who I took 2/3 of the way through the story to play with my friends.

When I started going through the story I missed, I was level 40. Finished at like level 43. This is in contrast to my friends who ended up around level 56.

So now I'm grinding 15 levels to catch up in the level 58 zones. It's not the worst, but it's also not ideal. I highly recommend not doing what I did. Just play the story straight through from start to finish.

I should've toughed it out on Lich even though I don't love it.

Also skipping the story really fucks up telling you where to go next since you talk to the same characters often it will tell you to go to the incorrect spots or places you can't access yet. There is also a built in anti-power leveling mechanic.

There’s a void knight in the sentinel class. There was a void dmg build in the past, I’m sure it still exists in some form, I had one. It was basically doing a charge/ram attack constantly, so was pretty fun. You just charged around in straight lines killing everything in the path. Void lawnmower.

This was the build I was thinking of. Skills may have changed a lot since this version though but gives you an idea of what a void knight does.

looking at .9 here. looks like a good amount of polishing going on. I'd almost thing q4 this year. Although still missing several classes.
