With all due respect to anyone still playing on RU, this is pretty inaccurate and I feel bad for the few people still playing there. As an example, RU still doesn't have Knowledge Transfer. Ask Raes Raes to explain to you why they've explained that before judging the CS/CM too harshly.

Yes, RU gave a bullshit reason for not letting us have KT, in a really shitty way too. And we don't get nearly as many free boosts as KR, (but we've gotten a few) but other than that they run their version 1000x better than AGS. No dribbling out stale breadcrumbs of piecemeal content, no lessened/character bound event rewards, no holding back classes.

The game is what it is, yeah, and you either like it or you don't. But, the game we have in NA/EU is NOT the game. And most of the problems people are experiencing are a direct result of that fact. And it's so fucking obvious that every decision AGS makes is based on simple greed.

Sure, the game is doing "fine" and has made shit tons of pure profit, but it could easily be doing a hell of a lot better if it weren't being published by retards.

1370 with 210 fails, which from area chat actually doesn't seem too far from average (on the high side, but at least it wasn't 230). That's with my alts at 1315, 1050, and 880.

Now to figure out what I want to concentrate on.

I just hit 1370 as well with 226 fails, I do have a couple of alts a little further along Pally at 1315, Zerker at 1305, and Soulfist at 1040.. So yeah my horseshit luck is right there with you.

Meanwhile we have others one shotting their +15s and shit so this game is a bag of dicks at times.

And the funny thing about MMOs is that it's EXTREMELY difficult to pull people back in once you've lost them.

Ownership of this should always be on the studio. There are too many options out there for my entertainment; if I've devoted time (and potentially money) to your product once and you drop the ball, you should absolutely never get the opportunity to again, short of every single person I trust telling me that I should.

Well you can one shot stuff and still get shit luck over time. I think I have fairly average luck, I did get 2x 14>15 on first try, and I got 2x pity and one time hit right before pity, so like, comes and goes. I have 252 failures but I don't think you can use that shit semi accurately with alts, I have 6 alts, and all of them went through T1 and all but 2 thought T2, so there's a bunch of fails from these cause even at 80% I hit pity on some of these alts. The books definitely helped a lot, the mats were kinda "eh".

I definitely second the "stockpile for a week then hone" advice though, that's what I did and it felt a lot better to just go through the fails and keep trying until it worked rather than have to just stop there on a series of failures until the next day imo. If I hadn't been saving up and relied only on the event mats I would have gotten maybe 1350, they give really paltry amounts, it's ok if you consider the overall amount over the few weeks of event but yeah this is just a little supplement, the books and % mats(solar shit) is where it's at. And the sea coins.

Just did Argos P1, easy stuff but god are people quick to give up. Literally 2 wipes in, some dickhead is like "I remove my gear this isn't going to work". It wasn't "super reclear party for alts only" or whatever, was just a know mech party with a bunch of first timers at mostly min ilvl(a few 1375) and with gunlancers as supports. Next party, 2wipes in, same shit. This one wasn't an absolute fuck though and didn't remove their gear, and we literally killed it on the next pull. Like I kinda get the mentality when you have DPS meters like in wow/ff, you can clearly see you're not gonna make the enrage and it's a waste of time or whatever, but on this you can't even fucking tell if you're doing well or not even with people dying.

This. I feel like the people who keep trying every day are the ones who go absolutely mental the quickest. There's just a good feeling when you wait about a week (barring being right at a threshold).

As for P1 Argos, this is pretty standard stuff for most games these days. Wiping 1-2 times is an instant "this cannot be done" when P1 Argos is an absolute joke. With that being said, KR has the reverse mentality and I could not stand that either. People there are ok with wiping for 4 hours with little to no progress (when it's clear who the person making the mistakes are). Like all things, there's a perfectly fine medium where you don't give up right away but also don't keep going when there's no chance.

Hit 1346 today. Failing sucks and everything but I legit don’t even care. For me I just view the whole thing the same way as I view losing rolls on loot in other mmos. It just happens.

My only issue is that server transfers don’t exist. My RL friends are bailing because they’re soft, and I can’t transfer to Regulus where the forum crew plays.

I appreciate this perspective but I do think they could have done a far better job disguising the failures. They just chose the most Asian feels-like-shit method which results in people feeling like it's an Asian MMO. A Western studio would at least disguise this in a way that didn't make the audience hate the process so much; albeit no Western studio seems capable of actually releasing a game anymore.

As it relates to the latter - you really should consider re-rolling to Regulus. Even if it takes you a month to get back, you'll make it in time for the legion raids. MMOs are meant to be played with people and pugging everything is going to get old fast.

I didn't notice if it was the case but in FFXIV, when you enter an instance there's a timer, I think 90mins or so, and once that counts down, the instance closes. You can remake one obviously but most progression pubs stop there, it's a nice "limit" to how far you go. Obviously sometimes parties disband before especially when it's "prog from x" and then you have clowns who clearly have never been all the way trying to sneak in so you just disband/kick them, but a lot of prog groups just go one full timer, and then disband. You know what you're in for basically, and while that's a pretty long time, it's a good amount to learn an encounter(granted we're not talking argos level here, more the legion raid stuff). But yeah I've read some comments about FFXIV JP server parties where it's similar mentality where ppl don't want to get into conflicts so they'd rather wipe over and over instead of just kicking the idiot out.

Eh, I'd have to imagine they'll open up server transfers at some point. I realize it's a fairly recent thing in Korea, but it's a HUGE moneymaker if they bring it to the West.

That said, you'd likely be able to "catch up" before they release it.

Yeah pugging sucks. Got the first 2 8-mans in t2 pugging, but I’ve had the most trash bag fuckers every time I try the third.
I’ve debated rerolling, but as much as I enjoy the game, the thought of doing all the questing again makes me want to eat a bullet.

The idea of servers in modern day gaming is an antiqued dogshit system. I mean even on the so called servers they already blast out 30 of the same zone and shit. Matchmaking is cross server.

At some point a real gaming company will whip their cock out slam it on the table and say

"yo retarded American Inventor faggots, any mmo game that prevents people from grouping is gayer than aids, and I am not talking Magic Johnson live a normal life aids, I mean Tom Hanks Philadelphia aids."

Once these turbo tards can grasp basic shit we can improve. Until then if Amazon wanted to make big boy money. Let me pay cash money to turn off other people playing songs and add it to a premium crystal aura and watch the money pour in.

Also this game is kinda trash, but it's a fun kind of trash kind of like fucking a fat chick, you know it's not good for you but at the time it feels good and you know she has snacks in the fridge but the next day you go what the fuck was I thinking.

Probably have to pug the content I opened up this week since most are locked immediately on Thursday but whatever hopefully it won't be dogshit to do on the weekend.

My biggest complaint about the game still isn't the giant casino dildo they fuck you with. It's the retarded faggot hoops that have to be jumped through just to be able to do content with guildmates.

So, is the game fun before the upgrade fail system kicks in? After BDO I will not touch anything that has that horrible fucking system in it ever again.

It's nowhere close to as rapey as BDO's system and I say that as somebody who actually didn't mind BDO's system.

It's still fun even with that. Like I've said, I really enjoy the abyss dungeons, I just wish it wasn't once a week.

BDO is a whole different beast. Fuck that system. The only thing that made it tolerable was seasons, but that only takes you so far. And I quit whenever they stopped seasons (not sure if they brought them back since).

Since your disdain from BDO stems from a system, let me give this a shot;

- If you hate RNG systems in that, you may fail a 90% chance combine where as someone will succeed a 10% chance combine, Lost Ark is not for you. If you don't care about that and your disdain stems from the system actively penalizing you (such as going down a rank in BDO) than LA may be ok for you.
- If you hate multiple needlessly complex systems that makes the game unfriendly until you've played it for quite some time, Lost Ark is not for you. If you're able to look passed this stuff and learn (read: you don't mind Googling shit and asking in Guild) than Lost Ark may be ok for you.
- If you're looking for a game which revolves around maxing out a single character and playing just that character (without interacting with others), Lost Ark is not for you. If you enjoy switching pace and characters, Lost Ark may be ok for you.
- If you hate the concept of daily content as a system, no matter if the disguise is decent, Lost Ark is not for you. If you're comfortable with timed stuff that tells you to go play X at Y time, Lost Ark may be ok for you.

The game is MMO crack. If you haven't had a good MMO since WoW and you're looking for a hit, Lost Ark will satisfy this and make the time in your day fade away (as well as your wallet, if you're weak willed). If you're sick of the MMO genre and wish a developer would try something new, annoyed by the frustration of some of the staples of the genre then I cannot emphasis how much this game will not appeal to you. The combat is, by and large, the absolute best in the business. I didn't think that a top down ARPG could have such depth in a multiplayer setting; I was wrong. The encounter design is superb, with the best yet to come. With that being said, you will run into (on a daily basis) several aspects which are just incredibly frustrating. One day, that could be discovering a system in place which you didn't properly grasp which sets you back some time. Another day, that could be RNJesus deciding to shit on your honing and resulting in you not making a lot of progress. If you don't particularly care about that shit because slaying dragons with a giant sword while yelling in Discord at your internet brothers is fun for you than you might want to give Lost Ark a try.

Is there a class outside of the obvious Paladin/Bard that can self heal at all?
I know shadowhunter gets a small heal when going into demon form - anything else?

Sorcs don't heal but they do get a mana shield which can take quite the bearing as a quasi-heal.
