Wrong thread for kid stuff prolly but kinda where we were with wifes utter POS crazy sister. Divorced the dad who sticks around because was her familys friend, but a giant cuck that let her cheat like 8 times and otherwise doesn't do enough to protect the kids. (Shitty sisters new husband a sack of shit, both of them semi abusive, he has boys that have been in trouble for touching their cousins etc) So we had been just hoping the the new jealous husband murder suicides his wife or just some calamity happens and we could get the nieces.
Sadly, after having them out of state to visit us last year, they are like 13/11? and it's just become apparent I think that they are ruined at this point from their awful family dynamic. Part of it is the og dad's mother still babysits them quite often and she's a fucking quasi dementia, just very very oddly spoken nutcase and you can see the oldest girl has picked up her mannerisms.
Probably one of the bigger strains in our marriage was the no kids issue because as fate would have it (I said maybe it's a good thing so it's not on one person) but both of our plumbing isn't running quite right. So just random instances of sappy baby shit on tv or being mentioned can set her off. And she often gets upset when she see's utter dogshit people have like 4 kids and our otherwise successful law abiding life can't. She hasn't admitted it, but aside from the microscope (omg how many guns do you own) and cost, I think she agree's with me that there's a fear of not fully bonding w/ an adopted kid especially if they arn't like young young baby.

Sucks man and I can semi relate. We had two kids naturally but then for.whatever reason we couldn't have a third. We did all the IVF stuff but nothing stuck

I think life is funny that way sometimes. An old HS classmate of mind rocked way too hard in her twenties and early thirties. Somehow at age 34 she had an actual come to Jesus moment and became ultra ultra religious married some guy in the Navy and torqued out 2 sets of twins and then a 5th kid in barely 3 years. Having the most recent one a few months ago at 38.
