Boston Red Sox Authentic Collection 1915 Turn Back The Clock On-Field 59FIFTY Game Cap - MLB.com Shop

"We're gonna sell some throwback hats this year, and our new line features an authentic Red Sox hat from a hundred years ago."
"The fans will love that! What does it look like?"
"Well, have you seen a hat?"
"Yeah."
"It looks like a hat."
"Right, but is there a cool retro logo on it?"
"Nope, just a grayish-white hat."
"Is there anything to distinguish it as a Red Sox hat?"
"Not really, we added a symbol to the back that didn't exist back then and made it out of different material."
"So it's not authentic?"
"I guess not."
"How much are we gonna charge?
"I'd say $35 is fair."
"Okay, tell production to get started. Also, you're fired."

That hat is the perfect marriage between pretentiousness and douchebag. An apt description of all Boston sports fans.

I particularly enjoyed this series of events in the 8th inning of the Royals Vs Twins last night:

Kendrys Morales walks. Eric Hosmer to 2nd.
Coaching visit to mound.
Pitching Change: Brian Duensing replaces Tim Stauffer.
3.Alex Gordon hit by pitch. Eric Hosmer to 3rd. Kendrys Morales to 2nd.
Coaching visit to mound.
Pitching Change: J. R. Graham replaces Brian Duensing.
4.Alex Rios hit by pitch. Eric Hosmer scores. Kendrys Morales to 3rd. Alex Gordon to 2nd.
5.Salvador Perez reaches on a force attempt, fielding error by shortstop Danny Santana. Kendrys Morales scores. Alex Gordon to 3rd. Alex Rios to 2nd.
6.Omar Infante strikes out swinging.
7.Alcides Escobar singles on a line drive to right fielder Torii Hunter. Alex Gordon scores. Alex Rios scores. Salvador Perez to 2nd.
With Mike Moustakas batting, passed ball by Kurt Suzuki, Salvador Perez to 3rd. Alcides Escobar to 2nd.
8.Mike Moustakas walks.
9.Lorenzo Cain walks. Salvador Perez scores. Alcides Escobar to 3rd. Mike Moustakas to 2nd.
So basically, pitcher walks a batter, coach brings in new pitcher. Pitcher hits batter, coach brings in new pitcher. new pitcher hits ANOTHER batter. Next hitter hits a ground ball to short, SS boots it, everyone is safe. then after a few more runs score, pitcher throws a wild pitch/passed ball that advances runners to scoring position, then pitcher walks 2 more hitters, walking in a run.

That's like a little league series of events, it was like watching the Keystone Cops out there. I'm just glad my team was on the good end of(we've seen our fair share of being on the bad end of it in recent years)

Goddamnit, time for the Royals to start retaliating for being hit constantly by pitchers

Alex Rios Fractures Left Hand MLB Trade Rumors

Royals have been HBP 12 times in 7 games so far. Not all intentional, but you don't get hit that many times without some of them being intentional. The ball that hit Rios was actually sailing right at his face when he flinched backwards just in time for it to hit his hand instead as he held his bat up.

The best part was infante striking out in the middle. Truly a key performance from a stellar player

As much as I hate Infante at the moment, I can't say a whole lot because Gordon is even worse. Gordon can't be anywhere close to 100%, but then again he also had a lot of horrible, horrible at-bats in the postseason last year when he was supposedly fairly healthy. He's a strikeout machine, he just looks bad at the plate WAY too often.

At least Gordon is good defensively. But ya, he has not been playing well for awhile now

The worst thing that happens is the beer getting spilled. Beer probably costs $10 in Fenway.

Hell, beers cost $10 here in the Midwest, I assumed they were $15-$20 in Boston/NY

Was $9 for 16oz in Cincinnati. Didn't go at all last year but I assume it's still similar.

Boston prices definitely hurt.

Damn it's $11 or $12 at O.Co. And that stadium sucks. That's also a really big beer of solid craft.
