I haven't looked into it or studied the time period that close, but I figure not stripping Cain Velasquez is at least partly responsible for letting the HW division die and letting HW talent go and/or "waiting talent out" until they were past prime and out of their moment.

Cain is the record holder for not being stripped right? I can't remember

I don't expect Lewis to turn down a fight but come on...

And I don't think anyone seriously thought we were going to see Poirier-Diaz. "Cancelled". Yeah, we know.

DC vs Lewis is going to be a one sided beatdown. Unless Lewis can somehow catch DC with some crazy punch, which I just don't see happening, this is going to be a totally lopsided fight.

The weight discrepancy doesn't really matter. Remember DC ragdolling Josh Barnett? Lewis has a puncher's chance here and DC might be cocky enough to entertain standing with him but DC may even be too quick for Lewis on the feet as well. At least we know this one won't be going the distance.
