Poor Archer. Somehow they made an even gayer version of Ranger.
Archer really should not have been spun off from Ranger.

It’s actually impressive that they took arguably one of the shittiest classes from Classic EQ, and spun off two separate classes (Archer and Spellblade) that probably could have just been incorporated into Ranger to make Ranger not suck.

I unfortunately agree. Curious to see how/if they can flesh these out. I love the idea of adding more to the EQ base classes but not sure these are there yet.

I think if you wanted to spin up new classes IMO it would make way more sense to spin off an OP class like Enchanter, maybe make a class that does charming/crowd control and another that does buffs/debuffs.

If anything there should be fewer classes and a couple should be made more powerful. Elementalist should be rolled into Wizard & Enchanter. Shaman into Druid & Cleric.

Agree wholly on Wizzy/Ele/Ench/Nec rolling into three classes. Same with Ranger/Bst/Archer/Spellblade should probably be 2-3 classes instead. Personally disagree on Dru/Shaman just because I think only have two healers would be lame unless your plan would include a new healer.

The elemental archer archetype works great in tabletop and crafting/survival type games. It is cool to have all kinds of arrows of effects and damage types.

It just really doesn't translate well to an Everquest style of mmo.

I'd definitely include a third healer that had a ton of CC utility and was the best group/aoe healer - but the worst single target healer. I just don't like the way buffs are distributed on the Shaman with respect to the other healer classes.

That's one of the things I loved about Blood Mage, it completed the set. Plate (Cleric), Chain (Shaman), Leather (Druid), but no cloth healer always felt weird to me.

The one dev dude is constantly hinting about new classes coming, and gets all cutesy when people mention Blood Mage. I expect it’s coming soon (tm). This game is going to end up with 20+ classes for sure.

man speaking of being immersed. my homies arn't on and so i thought i would t ry to do some mining to build them armor when they can play (we like level 8. on relle). so i invised and ran past a dog man. turns out ME being invis is of no help when my PET is not. because it agro'd the dog man who chased my pet.

With the changes to HoTs and Canni it's 100% in a strange space right now, it's basically the healer for if you don't need a healer.

One thing that would make Shaman pretty nice would be to unfuck Canni and let them do their class roles without dying.

Would be super nice to be able to DoT AND Heal, that aint happening when 1 heal at 16 covers 140 HP for 60 mana barely covering 1/4th of the total HP of a tank in most groups in that range of around 600 HP. Not even talking about debuffing because if I so much as think about debuffing a mob I have all the agro.

Do-able, not fun.

Sure, 2 classes but you get one of the best classes in the game and a druid. You have the capacity to have 2 charmed pets, the "same" healing, thorns, debuffs of nearly all types needed / wanted.
