You'd think people who want basically the opposite of what's intended wouldn't be listened to. My experience observing lobbyquest has been one startling revelation after another of devs who fear some out of left field audience spreading hate for something on Reddit. I guess if my own money was on the line and I didn't know this, it would make me very uneasy. But I've seen what they do instead of their threats like removing in game maps and target rings. They keep playing, bitching and trying to crocodile tears their way into freebies otherwise. I hate to say they usually win in the end and then no one is happy, even them. Nick got a front row seat on P99. Great.
People love a fresh rollup when the population stagnates which is something for them to keep in mind too, esp if it offers a ruleset shake up or some kind of pvp addition.
The smart move they did that Pantheon also did was a less moderated island for the rabids who want to tear each other to ribbons and literally don't want GM involvement (at least they say they don't, so give them that and stick to it). This should always exist to as a kind of MMR separation between the adult kindergartners and big dawgs. Most of them know who they are by this point. You can tell from reading here.
Detractors can say whatever they want, like I'm trying to force people to endure the same grief as us enthusiasts but once again you can see me suggesting nothing like that.
Removing dark night time "cuz it broke my pooter" literally happened like I predicted. Literally insane to witness it being taken seriously. Those are the kinds of things you don't wanna budge on, but servers that have rulebooks for raiding vs the neckbeard fest... those are considerable.
