Nearly 500 posts in a thread for a game that you think kinda sucks. I'd hate to see how many posts you have in threads for games you actually like.

I guarantee you he likes it, just refuses to admit it. Even to himself.

My personal opinion is that for a game that is slow paced by design, they should at least go for incredibly detailed textures, details, effects, mapping, models and animations.

THJ got sued because they emulated EQ assets and made money off of it. If they had created THJ from scratch, they would still exist.

Completely correct and the thing MnM took directly from EQ was the class skills ect, that's why they are revamping them, we are not contradicting each other.

vastly increases production costs and provides 0 content and as previously discussed there's a real psychological effect for the low texture style that imprints on the brain, they do that on purpose.

Nevermind it got nuked by daybreak - they sued the unity store because they had “elves, dwarves, ogers, gnomes, fantasy castle, brick texture, fantasy generic flag.jpg, toddy elf pixel and non toddy elf pixel and other totally original IP stuff from EQ”

You're trying to make a joke but that is extremely close to reality

What gay flex.

What MnM person has said they are doing anything because of “daybreak is going to sue us” that is the absolutely most retarded thing.

No one “reasonably” looks at MnM and says “that is totally EQ! …. What?! It’s NOT?! I HAVE BEEN BAMBOOSLED”

Elementalists hanging out with the Monks? No real discernible reason that is backed up by any fleshed out in game lore and when you ask on Discord they’re like “well this is how it is so use your imagination.”

Monk was about elements before rework, they're both elemental themed. thematically it had fit at the time, you're making it way more complicated than it needs to be

Hope daybreak sues LOTR and DnD Online because it has like, swords… EQ had swords… Aragorn was a RANGER?!?! Oh my lawd

did they literally copy/paste their classes from EQ? no? stop being a retard, all it is, is an explination of why they are so hellbent on doing class revamps atm

Daybreak Games Daybreak Games

@:::::::[============>

^------- totally a EQ epic weapon

I expect a cease and desist letter, I will keep it as a framed memento

day break has sued or threatened to sue multiple things that have used stuff from eq, MnM who has 3 former EQ devs knows exactly what they were copying (classes) so they changed it, you can stop being a retard at any time and pretending your histrionic bullshit has meaning

1. Project 1999 (P1999)
  • The Arrangement: In April 2015, the operators of Project 1999 signed a landmark, written agreement with Daybreak Game Company. [1, 2]
  • The Terms: The agreement allows P1999 to continue developing and hosting classic EverQuest emulation without legal threat, provided they follow strict guidelines. [1, 2]
  • Key Restrictions: P1999 must remain strictly not-for-profit. To avoid competing with official Daybreak progression servers, P1999 also agreed to cooperate on scheduling (such as delaying expansion releases so they do not conflict with official live server launches). [1, 2, 3]

2. Project Quarm
  • The Arrangement: In July 2025, following Daybreak's initial lawsuit against The Heroes' Journey, the popular emulator server Project Quarm proactively went dark out of caution. Its lead developer, known as "Secrets," immediately contacted Daybreak to broker a formal contract patterned after Project 1999's deal. [1, 2]
  • The Terms: Daybreak permitted Project Quarm to safely return online weeks later under explicit restrictions. [1, 2]
  • Key Restrictions: The server must operate on a personal, non-commercial basis with zero monetization. Furthermore, Daybreak required the removal of highly customized features that strayed too far from a classic experience (such as certain custom zones, custom raid encounters, and armor tinting fixes). It also enforced a strict 1,200-player cap with a queue system to manage population sizes. [1, 2, 3]

The "Don't Charge Nothin', Won't Be Nothin'" Boundary
Aside from these high-profile written arrangements, dozens of smaller servers operate under the open-source EverQuest Emulator framework. Daybreak's consistent threshold for legal intervention rests entirely on monetization and direct competition: [1, 2]
  • As long as fan projects do not charge money, sell in-game access, sell perks/loot via "donations," or run current-era expansions that drain active subscribers from live servers, Daybreak has historically let them co-exist. [1, 2, 3]
