I would be fine with this. I know everybody is going to be like "Hur Hur he's going to be the next Matt Cassel" but from what I hear there is no one in the draft worthy of that #2 pick and no reputable free agent QB is going to come to SF. McDaniels knows Garappolo better than anyone so if he thinks he's the real deal I'm not going to argue with him. The only part of it that will be hard to swallow is watching the rich get richer when belichick gets our #2 pick but a legit starting QB, if that's what Garappolo is, is worth more than any draft pick.

Hiring Chip would be something I'd expect Belichick to do. Why not? Get first hand info on everything that works, ignore the shit that doesn't. Though I'm not sure what the plan is, they're going to trade away their only competent backup to a 40 year old QB?

Hiring Kelly makes sense provided, McDaniels plans on taking Garapollo to SF and Belichick has decided that Brisset is the future. Pretty savvy move to start planning the total offensive rehaul 3-5 years in advance. Brady can run this offense in his sleep, there is no need for a coordinator, Kelly can work with Brisset and turn the NFL on its ear.
