what? Jay-z with major stake at the ownership? Just like the one he had with the Nets. What was it again before he sold it? 1% or something and all the media and he himself hyped it up like he fucking majority owned the team. It's all bullshit.
The fact is that he doesn't have the financial muscle to get any significant stake at any of the NFL teams. The best he can be is to be the poster boy for an investment group, just like he was with the Nets.

49ers fall was largely due to Baalke and the collapse of the defense during the post season.

Kaepernick was a decent QB. His running ability allowed the 49ers to pick up large chunks of yardage and consistently win the field position battle with Andy Lee. Then the defense went to work and the indomitable Frank Gore put a stamp on a lot of games that Harbaugh Niner team won.

It was a great formula, until Baalke started squandering picks on rehab projects and outright busts. This greatly hampered their depth during the 2014-2015 season as well as the following year.

Then for some reason, the defense couldnt get off the field come playoff time. They were able to still win some games (people forget how fucking good Kaep was in the comeback against Atlanta) but they had to dig themselves out of a hole almost every time.

The special teams also gave up big returns leading to even more pressure on the offense to keep up. Kaep very rarely played with a lead. I think it started when Bowman started to slow down. Patrick Willis and Bowman were two of the best inside linebackers of all time, it was an incredible time to be a niner fan when that defense was fucking people up. Aldon Smith was racking up sacks at an historic rate, Eric Reid was serviceable and Justin Smith was the anchor. But then all of the sudden they couldn't stop anyone and was giving up 30 points a game.

When Bowman blew out his knee after making that incredible play against the Seahawks, that was the end of that Niners team.

We have been lucky with linebackers though. Foster was a huge bust, but Fred Warner is an All Pro type player IMO and will be a perennial pro bowler and difference maker. With Kwon Alexabder next to him he is just gonna get better. Richard Sherman is back to 100% now, and they added Ford and Bosa. If this defense isnt a top 10 defense this year, Vic Fangio deserves even more credit for what he did there. There is no reason outside of injury that the 2019 49ers wont have a stellar defensive unit.

Or...you know:

No way was Harbaugh going to get the same production out of that roster. Don't forget he went 8-8 in his last season before they were completely devoid of talent.

Bingo. Although all those players retiring and/or off field trouble screwing up their careers probably about equally as responsible.
If only someone could have predicted running off the only decent coach in years would be disastrous. Superbowl or bust though amirite!

Anyone who thinks Harbaugh was the problem in San Fran is fucking delusional.

I mentioned Baalke because of the lack of depth, which is exposed when the injury bug bites, and it bit hard. They couldnt maintain.

Look at a team like the Patriots, or Steelers. When those teams deal with injuries the next man up not only fills in admirably, sometimes they themselves become household names in their own right. Depth matters in the NFL way more than basketball or baseball.

Also, New Bedford MA. Is pretty fucking rugged. Uber wouldnt walk around in any hood around here. I smell pussy.

To be fair, Harbaugh was an insane person and people were saying he was losing the locker room in his last year. That "Who's got it better than us? Noooooobody." shit works in college but I think most of the vets were in the back of the room rolling their eyes.

Starting this year, Riveron has the ability to swing massive chunks of field position, by throwing an after-the-fact spot-foul defensive pass interference flag or by wiping out a long gain (or a touchdown) based on offensive pass interference that wasn’t called on the field. And he has that power over each of the 256 regular-season and 11 postseason games that will be played in the league’s 100th season.

This is seriously fucked up

This is true, which is why many people say he is better suited for college. You will typically only have guys for 3-4 years so they are gone before they get totally fed up with him.

I'm legit worried about Garoppolo.

He has looked like shit. Maybe they are babying him and he will sling it once the season starts, but fuck....

The 49ers were smart though, they can move on from him after this season with no penalty or cap hit.

Yeah he looked terribly uncomfortable out there tonight. Not sure if it's rust, if he's nervous about the knee, or he just isn't very good.

I've learned not to get too worked up over the preseason though. I'll reserve judgement until about week 4 or so.
