I did hear they were asking for crazy prices to pick someone they weren't going to take on their own. Have to figure GM's really took time to set up their rosters and make pre trades in order to not have to hand over assets like how Vegas piled them up.

StoiCynic what's this shit I'm hearing Rangers are interesting in Kuznetsov?
I'm sure it's been explored but I don't see it happening. He's a great Center and would be a perfect fit with Panarin but the last thing we need is more drama and the last thing he probably needs is NYC. Drama aside, i'd be all for it though.
Hard to tell what's legit and whats being used for leverage in other trades these days.

I'm just curious what sort of return would be coming back our way. I just don't think we can move Kuznetsov without some potential top 6 C coming back our way. There's no way they think McMichael would be ready to come up and handle that his first year in the NHL (assuming we even bring him up full time this year).

Depending on how bad they wanna move on from Kuzy, I know several teams have been asking about Strome. Might sound crazy, but he was almost on pace for a ppg playing with Panarin the past two years and I believe he is cheaper (but ufa in a year). Our 2C for your 2C I guess? Maybe with a pick or two thrown in? Honestly I have no idea what the price would be because no one realistically sees it happening as far as i've seen.

At this point, I'd say Kuzy is actually our 1C and they let Backstrom hold down a more 2C/2 way role for match ups. If he could be re-signed for cheaper than Kuzy's current cap hit, it might be a thing.

I get being worried about arbitration awards somewhat, just not in carolina's cap position. They don't seem like they are hurting at all.

Someone was pointing out how the signing bonus they had to give Aho after the Habs offer sheeted him was what priced them out on Nedeljkovic. I suck at numbers so fuck if I know if it's true, but it's pretty funny if it is.
All in all, been way more quiet today than I was expecting. When will I learn.
