Could someone explain to me why they enjoy this show so much? Bateman has the emotional acting range of a potato.

Yes, Jason Bateman can only play Jason Bateman. But that works in most of the stuff he's cast in. And it works very well in this show.

This is literally why I watch it and only why. This is Jason Bateman playing Jason Bateman playing a money launderer.

Only halfway through S2... the guy who plays Jacob is a fucking marvel.

Deadpan, emotionless, is exactly how I would perceive someone in his position if they were good at it from a long term career perspective. It's why Walter White failed, too chaotic.

He played old man Delos in Westworld, where he rocked an aussie accent. His dialect work in Ozark is phenomenal and it's mindblowing that his NATIVE accent IRL is an almost-incomprehensible Scottish brogue:

Watch the pilot. If it doesn't grab you then don't bother.

Already finished it. Dont think it was quite as good as season one but still top notch TV. Assuming next season will be about the KC mafia.

Bateman is meh but he does just fine as the fish out of water, guy in over his head with a reserve of toughness only accessible in the most dire situations, etc. However, I’ve been infatuated with Laura Linney’s acting since The Truman Show. Not sure what it is but she always seems to be able to creep me out while also making my weiner twitch. She makes the show watchable for me. Other than that I just think it’s a really well made show even if it isn’t TOTES AMAZE. Beautiful scenery shots too.

Anyone else watching this in DolbyVision? Mine is insanely dark even with auto dimming turned off and dolbyvision set to vivid its damn near unwatchable.

Finished s2 in two days. It holds the general discomfort throughout. You know where it's going, expecting the ball to drop at any minute. Setup perfectly to end there, and also fully capable of another good season. Unlike shows like Weeds that continued without any real reason to do so. A+.

At this point the "cartel" is the most patient buch of people around. I find it hard to believe they aren't all separated from their heads.

I think the end goal is worth it though. A cartel practically owning a casino is a serious plus.
