He's been laundering money to the cartel the whole time. Hence the duffel bag he's always carrying between the mausoleum, strip club, etc. They'll just be able to funnel a stupid amount once the casino is up and running, because it's virtually untraceable how much cash is actually flooded in. That's why they didn't murder folks that would impair his ability to successfully setup said casino. The whole premise of the season.

His constant, "no problem, I'm handling it", prevents them from straight murdering people. They didn't hesitate killing the black drug dealer dude, or Cade when she called them up and said he was a problem. I'm curious to see what kind of scorched earth response the cartel is going to have against the KC mob...

So the FBI got absolutely nothing from Marty's laptop... are we supposed to now assume that all of his accounts and numbers are all in his head? If so, what's he doing on the laptop? Maybe that's where he keeps the legit books and the cooked books are all in his head?

He wouldn't have anything about work on his laptop even if he wasn't a forensic accountant. It would be a thin client to an mainframe app that hosts everything remotely. Best the the FBI could do would be to pull his hardware ID's and find out where he's been using it.

He had multiple layers of depth. It was what he was good at. Numbered, unnamed accounts. Shit, with a properly encrypted drive, good fucking luck. If the FBI couldn't break an iPhone... They were able to source and identify all of the lower fledgling accounts tied to everyone but him. It's exactly like it works in the real world. Why organized crime is still a thing. Though having his shit on print outs was probably the most unrealistic part. Or having all of the money in one location when he's basically being watched 24/7. A lot of the show relies on the feds not having the resources to watch all of them independently, yet they're able to move more or less freely and do things that wouldn't be possible. Like burning the poppy field, as if the Snell's didn't have cameras out the yin yang, or motion sensors and all kinds of shit. Even the crop growers in Weeds had traps and limited access points. But hey, it's a TV show. If they showed a realistic perspective it would involve a whole lot more unless it was set 40 years ago.

He has an external hard drive that he carries in the mesh bag with the cash, you just don't really notice it and it's only mentioned once iirc.

A good but not great season. A lot of this season's moves you were able to see coming too far out and I think there was too many storylines going on at once, that they could've benefited from just moving the main one along faster and into something else instead of having all these secondary plotlines fill the time.

Just finished it, very good although I don't know if it's up there with S1 yet. It's getting to the point where you're are really starting to feel bad for Marty. Dude is now stuck in a prison between the cartel, the mafia and his wife. Does anyone know how many seasons this is supposed to go for? Kind of hard to see where this could go after next season especially if something happens to his wife. My thought is when it finally does end the one who may come up winning in the end may be Ruth.

Not GoT levels of character death, but pretty close. Second season was good, not great. We see the position shifts from S1 with Marty and his wife. If Ruth had more than a 10th grade education she would be Queen of the Ozarks. She still may end up there by default.

Show is excellent and most of the characters are great but some of it is a little too over the top to put it on another level. Agent Petty in particular. That shit with the baby is pretty wild. Seems like it's going to be awhile before we get season 3 since bateman is breaking till spring at least.

This season was incredible.

Ruth Langmore for President 2020.

Holy fuck. Yeah it is definitely slower but when they start doing the Game of Thrones shit it's definitely worth watching.

Side note:

The flashback to Darlene is massively underrated. I knew the second they showed that what was going to happen.

That woman is savage.

I agree although Darlene is the type of character it's hard for me to see her surviving past another season. I thought she was going to go first before Jacob.

Nah this shit is just like Game of Thrones, the people trying to do right are the first ones to die. I bet Darlene stays alive for quite some time. A+ season 2, can't wait for season 3.

Yeah, I really enjoy this show, but shows like this with so many moving parts and so much happening, it's hard to remember a year later.
