EDIT: Sorry... some how my Planetside post ended up in Pantheon. I was curious all day where it went to... just another sign that it needs to die.

Vanilla WoW was nearly perfect for me except for a few things:

-Itemization could have been better. "Fistpunch Gorget of the Tranny" was lazy and boring. There was too much loot that didn't matter, and it dropped far too commonly. All gear should be coveted, not sold to vendors.
-There should have been a few non-instanced dungeons that housed desirable, but not essential, items. Rare mounts, cosmetics, rare crafting mats, harvesting nodes, etc. These areas should have been the most challenging in the game.
-There should have been more contested rare-spawns/raid targets, ideally in PVP enabled zones. They addressed this with Azuregos/Kazzak/Green Dragons pretty quickly though. Still... I wish WoW had a few really rare solo camps like Quillmane, Pyzjyn etc.

Aside from that... the game was straight up superior to EQ in every conceivable way.
Unkillable/spawn-mad flight vendors and insta-spawn guards completely ruined PvP and turned it into a mindless, inconsequential war of attrition.

Actually, the fact that players had to go to such lengths to provoke a major response from the other faction shows how inconsequential the PvP already was even before launch.

Shit like being driven out of a zone and needing to call in friends/guildies to come drive out enemies never happened - hell, slaughtering newbies until the whole zone united and came after you almost never happened and from what I recall that only happened to people like Blart who two boxed to bypass the faction communication block and stir up smacktalk.

Edit: How is anyone surprised at Dumar's shit? The most avowedly outspoken socialists are merely closet elitists that are driven mad with envy by not being elevated to their rightful position in society.

Erronius is right about most emu players. The majority love dominating and shitting on everyone. They the reason why most servers live short lives. Heaven in their minds would be having thousands of people forced to play EQ unable to quit with them by law, kept from being good at it so they'd prove an endless population people to bully and abuse.

Lol, during my old hipster days this also describes me and everyone around me. Gotta remember that line. Coming from the old eq days it's no surprise this community is filled with people like this.

Also, WoW pvp on "pvp servers" was a joke. 99% of the time you simply ignored the other side and carried on. We would attack Alliance guilds when sitting outside raidzones, Every time they would simply zone in. Outside the rare random meaningless gank that was wow pvp.

Posting someone's address online is sleazy.

Not surprised someone as far out of touch with reality as Beck doesn't get that.
This project's attracted a whole lot of crazy. One of them just assumed this community is like-minded and thought it would be itching to use such information against Brad, no doubt if Beck had the balls he would do it himself.

Never understood what this was supposed to be. He built a swing over his bed?

Or is it a homebuilt bed lift to help disabled people onto the bed?

That is your standard sex contraption, bro.

That's what makes the picture so fucking good. What the FUCK is that thing even FOR?

How contorted and weird is the sex you're trying to have, exactly?

It's like something you would draw up when you're 13 years old. But he actually went and built it!

Hence what I meant about the lengths players were driven to make PvP meaningful.

Rolling up everyone in sight back to Astranaar, then storming the place, ganking anyone flying in and all around shutting the place down quickly got the Alliance focused and counter striking resulting in a battle until we were driven back to the Barrens. It was satisfying knowing you could completely take over a town like that (something that didn't happen all that often in Hillsbrad, at least it didn't on Frostwolf), that is until they nerfed windriders and the guards to the point that it became untenable to hold a town, then sucked the open world PvP away into Battlegrounds.

I was able to endure the loss of town PvP, but I quit shortly after battleground came out when I'd take to gank ppl and they'd just keep running or let me kill them because it was meaningless to both die or kill at that point.

Looks like Brad is hard at work, earning that $45k.

Can we officially say that this disaster is canned and we aren't going to get anymore memorable moments out of Pantheon Cult?
