That was probably before they converted everything to the new HDRP graphic pipeline, which instead of improving things actually makes everything look worse, The longer this game is developed the worse it gets. Thats some kind of fucking achievement lol.

in the future i think we will see procedurally generated AI art with stuff like midjourney dall-e etc -- and you will have prompt engineers that will generate 98% of assets in a game. then it goes back to simple mechanics, story, etc.
i think you will see a new age of independent gaming studios producing big results by reducing overhead in this way. pantheon is an ill timed project, perhaps ahead of its time and slipping away due to lack of execution.
a new age of stuff will come in the next 10 years that due to AI as mentioned above I think some of it will actually publish and well see a new dawn of cool stuff. probably prep yourself for at least another 5-6 of nothing though.
at least we got that next eq tlp to look forward to.

Generating images is a lot different than generating fully useable 3d models. Ten years might be optimistic but it will be nice when it becomes possible.
