In other news people are starting to make the point that the KS has more realistic tiers as opposed to some of the others successful ones.. As in they are only offering what they can truly backup.. That doesn't mean the tiers don't need to be tweaked bc they do but the people who backed tiers in games like repopulation haven't received any thing yet so it's still not guaranteed they weren't over promised on the tiers.. Interesting way to look at it I guess.. I'd have to go look at some of those ks to really decide if there is any validity in it all..

Brad, the wife and I are confused over the new tier. Is the Pathfinders tier considered a previous tier to the Paragon? If that's the case, anyone who is signed up for the Pathfinder tier (us) and moves to Paragon losses nothing, they actually gain the tester privileges for no cost. If I'm wrong, someone correct me.

@Eldroth thanks for killing that rumour.

It never made any sense to me, I mean would not Sony lend a few guys to get the KS geared up and help with media if UT's conspiracy theory was true? I badly want this to succeed but it does not look like that the case.

Still I would not be surprised if ultimately was published and backed by SoE, that does not mean they have a sekret agreement to do already.

It's a side step. You lose the lifetime sub. Ben confirmed this.

I posted this to another message but seriously the higher end tiers should include an opt in for testing. Donating 500 or 1000 to get in alpha vs 250 to get in ASAP as a tester (even if we are really assholes with no intention to "test" and just want to buy our way in asap) is a bit discouraging.

They said in the update they are looking at the tiers.. You might want to just wait it out till they update it next week.

The point of my post was that it's hard enough to get a KS funded without having some loud self-annointed know-it-all actively trying to undermine things. These guys deserve their shot without any ridiculous tinfoil hat nonsense.

Agreed.. People forget there are 10 guys on this and they are doing something that as a community a lot of us asked for.. This isn't just Brad guys.

Its all just RMT. What the gaming industry did is capture that market by building it into their games, now its being used to fund games. I don't really have a problem with that per-se but I do not like kickstarter for the reason you point out.

I pledged for this game just because of the obvious turn of the MMO industry and it may just be the last chance I get at playing a decent MMO. However, questions do pop into my head....

I know this won't be 100% crowd funded and when they do acquire that large investor, will they shit can the original designs to adopt to MMO norm ? That is what concerns me most about the project.

Something I was thinking about today is:

Why didn't they do this game like Dayz and Rust are doing theirs? Make a playable alpha and then sell it for $30 bucks. Give the backers something tangible. Dayz isn't even close to finished but it's already made like $30 million.

If a bunch of no names from the mod community can do that, what is stopping Brad? Why does he deserve everyone's money up front with just a hope that a game might get made in 3 years?
