I wish Pantheon the best, this genre needs any help it can get.

But MMORPG.com is pretty niche in general.

WTF do expect to find posts that are positive about a game anyway? On their *own website*? *gasp* Nowai!
English pls... I went there once like a year ago, there were several topics, some were ok that I wanted to reply to, but mostly it was dumb stuff like, "Shud dis gaem haz hotkeys?!" etc. But I couldn't post without paying so I never went back. What more do you want from me?

you literally just said most people who complained about vanguards performance didnt have a good pc. I posted my specs, and detailed performance issues with a PC that was better than yours.

And yes, for the majority of people that tried vanguard, it ran like fucking shit. The proof would be the fact that vanguard was sunsetted and can no longer be played.
That isn't proof of anything, and it ran slick years later anyway after they tidied it up. It died for other reasons. And I don't know why it was bad on your pc, you probably had some yahoo toolbar fucking everything up. It ran bad for most people, I don't deny that, it just didn't run bad for everyone like someone originally said. Also I am convinced most people brought it on themselves by using settings beyond what they should have.

My opinion on early Vanguard is that it was a total mess, ran like shit, was really buggy, lacked content, and the combat wasn't as fun as it should be. Bad. Yet I thought it had a lot of promise and I thought gamers were a bunch of overly dramatic faggots for abandoning it in the first month. They killed the game by bailing, if they stuck around and tried all the amazing classes and visited all the great locations, there was plenty of fun to be had in the game and it would have grown into a decent game. It would never be what it should have been, but in that first year it would have grown into something that was at least as good as EQ if not better. For me it was much better than WoW, even with all the problems.

I had a level 50 of every class and I enjoyed levelling up every one of them, and most of them did it unique areas.

man you are a really special kind of idiot. Your thought process leaves me in awe.

It ran bad for EVERYONE. Compare the stability of this game to WoW, or other competant companies and its BEYOND obvious. FACT: Everyone playing this game has experienced problems, whether it be graphical, script, audio, hardware, or anything. It had problems in so many aspects that it was impossible for you NOT to experience them. You were just one of the few who was willing to waste time and put up with it long term. You can cloak that behind all the reasons you want dude. but thats pretty much the long and short of why you kept playing this clusterfuck and other rational people who spend their time wisely (or just on better games) moved the fuck on.

And guess what, nobody owes vanguard a long term chance, nor any game. They werent being overly dramatic faggots faggot, you were being a moron for playing broken trash.

No, it didn't. It ran fine for me and there were others who said the same. Most of my guild had no problems, technical ones anyway. Gameplay was another issue.

WoW was a buggy pile of shit at release too, and it only ran ok because it looked like a cartoon. Also I never said Vanguard was stable or well optimised. It had performance problems for sure. But you can't say it ran bad for everyone, because it didn't.

It had a lot more than a few for a long time.

I am not cloaking anything. I played Vanguard because I liked it, so did lots of other people, and I tried every other MMO. I didn't like any of them as much. The only one that came close was early Rift.

And guess what, nobody owes vanguard a long term chance, nor any game. They werent being overly dramatic faggots faggot, you were being a moron for playing broken trash.
It wasn't trash though, it had a lot of great content. And I got to enjoy it all in my own time which I appreciated. Nobody owed it anything, but they only screwed themselves out of a good game by rage quitting when there was no alternative anyway.

I still can't believe qwerty hasn't been on the official forums. He got kicked out of rerolled, hung around for a while at reddit and then just came running back here? Seems weird but he is probably autistic. I guess it makes sense then.

Oh fuck that.

You are not gonna compare WoW to this buggy pile of shit, ever. EVER. WoW ran like a dream in the first fucking wave of beta on a piece of shit machine (mine). Vanguard still ran like a piece of shit two years later.

If you don't wanna believe that qwetard, what color crack are you smoking today?

I played WoW with no problems on my old machine. I probably couldn't today but I would like to think everyone upgrades at a point, lol. Even if Vanguard played with no hitching, crashing, etc, it would have never played as smooth as WoW did.

I played Vanguard in Beta and at release. I think I remember Beta being awful to play, but release really wasn't bad for me. I had a decent computer, but nothing top of the line. For whatever reason, I really just did not have the performance problems that were so widespread. I had to /flush frequently like everyone else and I doubt my FPS ever went over 30 unless I was by myself in the wilderness, but hitching and crashing were rare for me (khal being the exception, that city was a slideshow whenever you ran in). Chunking took 5 seconds max for me. That ram drive solution really helped as well until SSDs became mainstream.

SOE did what they could with the game and performance improved drastically over the years (yes, I took some breaks, but I played from release until sunset). There is still no other game that I enjoyed as much as Vanguard. I loved the class design, the world, the raiding, and the die hards that played up to the very end. So much potential in that game.

I'd like to believe, but unless they built an impenetrable wall between Brad and the coders, I have serious doubts that this will be any different than Vanguard. I've heard too many horror stories about his interference in tech matters about which he knows jack shit.

Unless you have a screenshot with a FPS meter, nobody believes this.

17 fps is just fine. Anyone talking about higher fps than that is wrong because you can't even see more than 24.

600 x 480 is just fine. How can higher resolutions be real if our eyes aren't real.

VGA is fine, 24fps is fine and 640k ought to be enough for anybody.

(I might slip in the "There's market for 5 computers in the world" quote, if you're willing)
