So my 4 year old builds the 5+ lego sets in like 10 minutes. Not trying to say he is a super genius as I'm sure many kids can do this. However I'm wondering what kind of stuff you guys buy for your kids that like building legos but would be more advanced, even if its more lego sets. I'm thinking of things like magna tiles maybe, or of course more advanced lego sets. Started looking at the stuff that was 16+ and thought maybe that was a little too advanced.
My daughter is 7 and could give two shits about stuff like this so I have zero prior parenting experience.

The 3 in 1 kits are pretty neat, and have lots of replay value. Same with the generic box o parts. Just encourage him to make stuff that he enjoys and the rest takes care of itself.

The LEGO Speed series is pretty cool, my kid was doing those at four. They’re about the right size where it would take him two sessions cause they’re kind of long builds. As mentioned in the post above mine the 3 in 1 series are pretty good too, they’re about the same difficulty as the Speed series.
He liked the magnetic tiles at 3-4 too. They’re simplistic but they’re fast builds so they can create all kinds of shit in short periods.

So my wife’s older brother and family came to visit us and meet our 12 week old son. Got him so cool gifts like Spider-Man socks and a ton of sleepers and onesies that we needed he as rocks a lot of his sisters hand me downs as she is only 14 months so we still have all this stuff.
He shows my wife a Sleeper with an image of a puppy on the rump. Apparently this caused my to cackle with excitement “I love butt stuff!” to her brothers family. I could not hold it in and burst out laughing then she figured out what she said.
Fast forward a few hours. Statement turned out to be false after multiple attempts.
I can’t recall the last time I laughed so hard.

Those are really cool. I need to get my son way more into LEGO's than he is. He's destructive though even at 7. He only wants to play some games to crash, or fall off cliffs and see the fall. He'd build those cars but want to demolish them just to see what it was like. I guess it's just kids, but sometimes can be infuriating.

Get the magnet tiles and build towers and let him crash everything you build. Then maybe explain the LEGO cars are not for doing that. That strategy may not work at 7, but it worked for us when he was 3-4.

Day 1 of remote learning for 2nd grade has not gone well. From a technical perspective, fine, and she likes her setup and can handle the iPad really well. But the first break resulted in lots of crying and telling us she didn't think 2nd grade would be like 1st grade ended, she hates the coronavirus, she wants to be with her friends, etc.
She popped back on as soon as it was time to start again and seems fine so hopefully a good cry helped her...

When our daughter was born 7 weeks ago, some of the lactation specialists said she might be tongue tied because she had problems latching on to my wife's breasts
My wife talked to our pediatrician and he goes "yeah its pretty much bullshit. if they direct you to an ENT and the ENT suggests a surgery to "fix it", theyre pretty much only doing it to scam your insurance"

my wife has very small nipples so that's our problem, it's harder for the baby to learn on em (especially now that shes use to bottles) but we're trying to get her to latch a few times a day (baby gets frustrated and rages usually, wife is convinced it's fucking up their bonding). We're about 20% pumped breastmilk and 80% formula. We're really shooting for 50/50 but doesn't really matter. I'm a formula baby and i'm only half retarded so i'm not too worried about it.
we went with this and it seems to be working well

My wife says she already dried up basically even though she's 36 DD, i dont know if that matters but I just wanted to brag about my wife's big tits.
We're 100% formula at this point and are using this stuff, she likes it and doesnt fuss much. I was 100% breast fed till I was 16 months and I'm half retarded too so I dont think it matters much.

We had the same experience. We’re told our daughter was tongue tied by lactation specialist, pediatrician said it was bullshit. We went like 50/50 for about 3 months then full formula.

Breast feeding is one of those things that seems like it should be easy, but can be a real pain in the ass. It’s literally the only thing the kid needs to do at that age and they can suck at it. Never underestimate how dumb and bad at everything kids are.

The amount of stress and emotion tied to breastfeeding is insane too. My wife went to a few of those lactation support groups to learn tips and talk and stuff. She didn’t have much problem with it but she said some of those moms were having breakdowns and shit cause they felt like failures.
