Thank you for the kind words, results are in: broken jaw, broken palate, broken legs and paws BUT she's doing okay! She's going surgery tomorrow to fix some bones but vet told me she's moving around and engage petty play. I'm sooo relieved :D Also it's gonna be €3k but I don't care because she's my baby :emoji_heart:

She looks to be resting well, hopefully she'll be back on her feet soon (she is also way more tolerant of that cone than any of my cats would be). Without that cone, she'd be full on Predator stealth mode on that cat bed

I have a black cat that exclusively lounges on the darkest, most shaded surface available. I'd post a pic, but she's basically invisible. Probably great for avoiding predators, less so for avoiding being stepped on.

There’s a black foot cushion under my desk. My black cat loves to sleep on this damn thing and blends right into it. The amount of times I accidentally bonk her with my feet makes me sad, but she keeps on coming back.

Painkillers are off for a few days now. She's eating normally, gets constipated so I'm torturing her into laxatives right now but she seems to still get PTSD about her fall, she's resting in the washing machine for the last few days since her fall. She doesn't seem in urgent care, purrs when I"m around, answers to food. Poor thing, her collar wil get removed next week.
PTSD wise she was in my bed last night, she felt so cuddly and resting until she went full prey mode for some random bird passing by :D

There are thousands of cats in shelters/pounds looking for homes. The SPCA is just a few miles from my work, and so far 3 of the 4 cats I've owned have come from there and been amazing.

One of them, about 10 years ago, was $40 to adopt (I hear it is $60 now). They called me back later that day and said they fucked up, it was during a sale to try to get more cats adopted and it was actually only $4. They offered me the $36 back if I wanted to come pick it up. I told them to keep it because they put way more than $40 worth of work into each cat anyway.

But seriously, fuck pet stores. They are probably getting their animals from puppy/kitty mills anyway. The SPCA spays/neuters them, gives them their shots and a checkup, gives you a coupon for a free checkup as well, and has a 30 day return policy if it gets sick or you just can't get along with it. And I bet it is cheaper too. Not much more you can ask for, I feel.
Yeap, every dog I've had (recently 7, lost 2 age/health, wanted to stay low, took in a coworkers pup so back to 6....) has been used.

The one exception was wifes bernadoodle she spent a lot on, and it's the only dog I've ever hated. High energy pushy/needy/emotionally fragile/pisses everywhere, gets into everything if left alone a second, snaps at the other dogs.

New baby. Black Mouth Cur. Not sure I’m ready for this level of energy.

Coworkers dog she foisted onto me. Supposed to be maybe newfoundland malinois mix

Bad pic to judge but to me just looks like a jet black shepherd with a little extra hair kinda behind his head and neck. 1.5 years old or so, was found dumped on the highway in front of her house when he was little. Huge though she said he kinda got skinnier with growth spurt, depending how he fills out, could be another 100lb dog on our hands.

Picking up he was very comfortable/confidant. Been an adjustment here, pretty skittish. Good at laying around though, I'm glad we got his bed to give him a kinda safe space.

Working on trying to figure out if he'll be safe in house loose with parrot cage and our pyrenese. Because he's not crate trained, and I suspect that might have him lose his mind more.

He was like an indoor when she was home, day time out in a half open half barn stall dog pen. Once I'm sure he's not going to run away from home, I halfway want to take him and the pyrenese and convert to full time front porch puppies. (Dont ask how my wife turned the Pyrenese livestock dog into a house bitch)
