Thing is, that ties directly into this issue.

Most of us wouldn't be dicks (IRL) to a trans person, and we would give them the...COURTESY...of trying to use whatever the fuck alphabet soup pronouns they'd like. You might think that they're batshit insane, but whatever.

Where that falls apart is, like you said, when they start being assholes about it. When they start DEMANDING that you use their preferred pronouns, or arguing ad nauseum that you HAVE to use their pronouns because they hold a sort of sociological view on gender and as such, they get to be whatever gender they feel like on that particular day. "Oh, it's Thursday? Xorbb/Xorbbins/Xorbbs PLS". They get to dictate the pronouns that everyone else must use, and when that predictably goes awry, they go fucking nuts.

Suddenly, it's not a COURTESY anymore. They start arguing that it's a REQUIREMENT, and that you're a BAD PERSON if you don't concede. And of course most of us laugh and say "get bent". Then they're all confused because they can't wrap their fucking brains around the fact that it was always a COURTESY, but by being a shitheel about it, that courtesy got fucking yanked.

Not hitting women? That's not a requirement. There's no gender specific law that applies. It's a fucking COURTESY. A COURTESY that most men extend to wamenz, contingent on them not being insufferable thundercunts. At which point, that fucking COURTESY gets revoked and you end up with a woman crying and asking why. Why? Why would you hit me? Ah, and there it is. They thought...they assumed...that it was a REQUIREMENT. A hard-coded part of some sort of societal code that no man would break, which led to them attempting to abuse it. The assumption that they could yell and scream and slap and hit and bite and scratch, all under an umbrella of immunity provided to them by way of "men should never hit women". A shield against any reciprocity, allowing them to behave badly. And even if a man DOES react, then you get the proportionality argument. Christ.

The entire assumption is an anachronism left over from an age where women were second class citizens and expected to act like...women. Quiet and weak and dainty...and submissive. It was a construct based on a metric fuckton of bias and ignorance, yet here we are, in 2018, where women aren't about to be QUIET or WEAK or DAINTY or SUBMISSIVE, yet people still trundle out this argument that "men shouldn't hit women". Really? Why?

And this is why this entire thread/argument is like ass-crack full of infected hemorrhoids that burst like grapes when you sit down wrong: the argument that men shouldn't hit women, because they're...men. Which, in reality, is due solely to physical strength. Which is also why no one wanted to answer Vaneesa's "Yes/No" questions, because they were contrived bullshit. It's a bullshit argument that only serves to derail into a separate argument that doesn't matter whatsoever, and that is in and of itself a terrible argument (if it's really based on strength, why argue gender? If it's really about gender, then why laugh at the mental image of zombiewizardhawk flailing ineffectually at some 400lb, 6' hambeast in a mumu? Shouldn't you be outraged because he's a man and might...somehow...injure this moose of a woman?) But at the end of the day, the argument just doesn't hold up unless unless you simply refuse to see all the holes in it.

But...I digress. Back to the real question: Why? Why shouldn't men hit women? Because...feels? Yeah, that's really what it boils down to. No one gets a fucking case of the feels when a 110lb dude gets his ass beat by some 275lb dude because he got fucking lippy. No one even blinks at the concept that the 275lb dude hits like a freight train, and will usually only step in when the other dude goes down. People look at that and say "Dude shouldn't have started shit with a guy 2.5 times his size". Same shit if you see some tiny woman getting her ass beat and extensions ripped out because she decided to press the buttons of another woman twice her size. It's more like "She called 'Snorlax' a 'fattie' one too many times, now she's getting the ass-whupping she deserves"

But Man vs Woman? Suddenly we're supposed to have MEGAFEELS and guilt and..."oh God, why would you hit a woman?" It's bullshit. If your argument can't account for an equal dis-proportionality when it's MvM or FvF, and your argument leads to situations where a 90lb dude has to stand there and take a beating from some monster woman...then it's a bad fucking argument.

The entire MMA/Trans thing was when I knew this debate/thread had long since jumped the proverbial shark. Using sport-fighting where weight and size advantage is critically controlled (because we want fair, competitive sport-fights, amirite?) as an argument when we're debating fights that are, by their very nature, NEITHER fair or competitive, is just fucking pants on head retarded. Adding gender/trans disparity on top of that is like taking a second shit on someone's chest. Just fucking stop it, already, the first deuce was more than enough.

If you want to hold the opinion that men shouldn't hit women, I don't really care. That's, like, your opinion, man. But let's dispense with all of this idiotic posturing and arguing that there's some sort of prohibition against it, or that it's 'bad' in the same way that 'rape' is bad. The reality is that assaulting someone else, regardless of gender, is already bad, and self-defense gives everyone the opportunity to defend themselves, regardless of gender. Proportionality along gender lines is stupid, for reasons already mentioned, and proportionality based on one's strength is just "LAWL...wut?". And at the end of the day, if a woman wants men to extend the COURTESY of not punching them? Then it's really easy...don't be a piece of shit and then try hiding behind your gender. And expecting men to pull their punches? No offense, but if you actually expect that, then you're just a dumb motherfucker. Nevermind never being able to quantify it whatsoever, but relying on random_dude_001 to only punch at 50% is nonsensical. Good luck rolling the dice on how hard some dude is going to punch you, when you were stupid enough to push someone that far in the first fucking place.
