This movie is a big guilty pleasure of mine. Both as a fan of horror and B movies and of cars and speed.

Was pretty bad. Not even going to argue with the 5.4 IMDB. Samara Weaving was the best part. Second best part was the soundtrack and really the odd "duet" scene between her and Alba Baptista. The rest just was extremely meh. The dark comedy genre or whatever you want to call them just aren't very good at the moment.

The Magic Sword or Quest for Camelot for the muricans 8/10 It was quite the good movie.
The Last Unicorn/Das Letzte Einhorn 5/10 It was okay neither very good nor bad it was okay just okay for me.
#9 I would say 9/10 it was a good movie a bit of a hidden gem in my opinion.
That is probably all I watched recently.....I really need to watch more movies again :emoji_sweat_smile:

Daniel Isn't Real. Starts off pretty slow, but it goes pretty bonkers Midway through. Almost thought I was watching a damn a Cronenberg or even a David Lynch movie.

Pretty good overall, and definitely didn't go into the direction that I thought it was. Dare I say cosmic horror which is such a cliche now, but that's definitely got some elements of that.

Totally worth your time.

This was pretty good. I didn’t find it slow at all really but it did accelerate towards the back half. Worth the watch though.

I just thought it took a little bit of time to kind of build up. I watched it over the course of a couple of evenings, so that might be why I thought it was a little slow, but once it gets going, I wasn't expecting how crazy it was going to get.

Watched borderline 6/10. Alright movie, made me laugh a few times. Also has a gay dennis rodman who apparently isn't gay which is distracting.

lol I posted about it like 4 posts above. It wasn’t terrible but didn’t feel like it was any more than a 6/10, and a weak one at that.

Samara plays a big singer who has a crazy stalker who breaks into her house to marry her.

I'm sorry my wife made daiquiris for brunch. I made breakfast tacos! I'm probably going to go turn on old western movie and take a nap soon.

Someone mentioned it a while back in this thread or another, but we watched On the Beach (1959). It's not an action movie or the like, the focus is on the reactions of those who survived and are waiting the slow arrival of the radiation to humanity's last refuge (Australia). If you dont like old movies, this won't be for you. Acting was solid and its just a slow inevitable walk to the conclusion.

Not sure a script like this would get written today. I know they remade it a while back, but I dont know if the script is the same or if they lighten up the ending or not. Sort of reminded me of the Road. It's not a happy uplifting story. Enjoyed it. 8/10.

Apparently the girl who played Dee in what's happening recently died and I heard people talking about how What's Happening was a spinoff of Cooley High. I liked What's happening when I was a kid so I watched the movie last night.

It sucked in that I expected it to be somewhat funny. The only tie I saw to the supposed sitcom spinoff was one little sister named Dee. I was really hoping they'd have a rerun. But the craziest thing is they just showed dindus being dindus. Skipping school, stealing everything, fighting, lying their asses off always, and Wakandan moments. All the worst stereotypes and this was done by black people?

Towards the end I realized boyz in the hood might have been a remake of cooley. Despite all that I couldn't turn it off. It was like watching monkeys fling shit at each other in the zoo.

I'd give it a 5/10 simply because I can't figure out why I didn't turn it off early.

I'm not aware that it is/was a remake, but you might be talking about These Final Hours. I really liked that movie, although it isn't one that I'd watch again anytime soon. The young girl in it was in The Nice Guys very soon after I watched it and was great there, and ended up with minor parts in all of the Holland Spider-Man movies (she was one of the school news anchors I believe), so it was interesting seeing her "grow up" in various movies over a couple of years.

Whether it is a remake or not, I would recommend watching These Final Hours since it sounds like On the Beach is very similar.

On the Beach (1959) was remade in 2000. I haven't watched the remake, just the original in black and white.
