Really good show. Main character fit the description. Story was followed fairly well. Lots of action and violence. No trannies or other SJW bullshit promoted 20 times an episode or at all. They actually seemed to care about the source material. Did we time travel back to the 80s? How the hell did we get this in 2022 instead of Tranny Commandoes?

It took a bit for the characters to work for me. I enjoyed the movie with Tom Cruise. I liked his lack of size because it made sense with how people looked at him. Tom Cruise is not an imposing figure. He does not look like the badass he is supposed to be. It made sense when he got threatened and nobody took him seriously. The actor they have playing Reacher in this show does look like he could hurt you. There were some scenes that made me think "Really"? Are you that stupid?" when they threatened him. So, it took me a few episodes to just ignore the reality that most people would not act that way around him. Oh and yes Tom Cruise is a better actor.
Despite that critic, I am enjoying the show and I would recommend it for viewing. The female characters are strong and well acted. The detective also hits a stride once you get to know him. The story itself is a little predictable but good enough.

There are a couple reoccurring characters through the series. However, even those maybe only show up in 2 or 3 books. From this season Neagley is the only one that should show up again. Lee Child liked having mainly new characters each book for Read her to interact with.

Don't wait up for the nudity, it may be 90's actions (mostly, as someone said earlier, last action set piece is kinda weak, series seemed to be running out of budget/steam at that point) but it's 2020 nudity.
Overall I really liked the show. I also liked the first Cruise movie but this guy seemed to do a good job as well, particularly given the way that Reacher as been described as a character over the years (giant, almost superhuman strength, borderline autistic/mensa levels of intelligence as described above, kind of Holmesian in his relationship with people at times due to lack of engagement).
Show was funny and serious when it needed to be. A few fights were overly long and dramatic for plot reasons in order to give characters heft who didn't deserve it (guy with large ears and crowbar, holy sheesh that fight sucked).
I have never read the books; while vaguely in line from the Wikipedia summary, there was a fair amount changed but the spirit seemed to be maintained, better than the Jack Ryan season 2 BS. Hopefully the series continues to be at least this good.

I just finished this, enjoyed it. Fairly by number type of show but well executed with decent cast. One thing I like was the pacing, it didn’t feel like it had any filler which is a big plus in my book. I’ll watch a second season if they do one, hopefully they have an interesting cast of supporting characters again since this is going to be a new setting each time with new characters.

I'm finding this just ok for me.
The main guy is fine but his acting and everyone around him is kinda soapish at times. I'd expect it to get better so that doesn't really concern me to much. What's worse is how close to straight tv detective this is. It needs a parallel storyline or two or maybe faster dialogue or maybe less pointless scenes. The point is the main storyline is fine but it's seems boringly adapted for tv.
I did love the opening scene however. The nudity was too sparce but good.
