I have no clue if they in particular were robbed or not, but plenty of other people have been, and the Brazilian government has created an international fiasco over their delusional need to pretend that Brazil isn't a shithole where an Olympic security guy was shot to death for making a wrong turn into a favela.

In other words, even if they lied about this robbery, it doesn't justify the Brazilian government's actions in trying to use this as a scapegoat to cover up their complete failure in running this Olympics well, or their own state well in the first place.

Olympics should never have been given to them.

Dude they went apeshit over Hope Solo tweeting a selfie where she's wearing mosquito netting. They'd chant "ZIKA ZIKA" when she was playing hahaha.


They started booing other Americans with "ZIKA" chants at other events like beach volleyball too. LOL the whole country is butthurt for being exposed as incompetent, disease-ridden shits.

we had some punk pull a knife on me in Rio. Just walking down the beach we had kids pointing at us and yelling "gringo". we always felt like targets. the cars and cabs all run the red lights at night because they are afraid to slow down. we've traveled many places but that was the worst. fucking weird; avoid that shit-hole (even the good parts are over-rated).

It's really funny to watch everyone shitting on Brazil for this when so many people on this board have previously advocated for allowing US citizens to outright shoot people for minor property crimes. If this had happened in Texas the gas station owner could have legally shot all of them, without warning.
