Me and a buddy played through this doing coop and had an absolute blast. We often discuss what was so enjoyable about the game and we think its that you get god like powers pretty much right away. On paper you might think that it would get boring fast but it never did. Usually you have to wait till the end of the game to become a god and by then don't have much of the game left to play with those powers. It was fun to play the whole game at full power.

It's painful obvious they're trying to appeal to the Fortnite/League Of Legends/Watch Dogs 2 crowd.

Kinda wish they ripped off Genshin Impact, atleast we'll have waifus but then again they'll fucked that one up.

Not surprised Game Informer gave it a higher score than the others. They've become a bit known for giving awards/status to things perceived as being consciously Woke. Like the Oscars does, factoring "politics" into awards rather than just merit.

Basically, they're participants in Sovietization. They'd both fit right into the landscape of the 1922 Soviet Union.

It's kind of heartbreaking to see what has become of Volition. Like I sorta got the impression they were reaching back for the security blanket of Saints Row after Agents of Mayhem was so poorly received, and years of trying could never get Red Faction to take off which is a shame because it has some of the best physics ever created for a video game. I mean obviously them discarding the original cast was the first big warning signs, and when the previews started coming out we mostly knew what was coming, but this is so much worse than just the unbearably shitty writing. Even if the writing was on par with the hilarity of the real Saints Row games, everything I've seen from reviews says that not only is this basically a last gen game, but a half-assed last gen game at that.

Honestly, this is looking to be even worse than Mass Effect Andromeda when it comes to murdering a franchise. And yeah Saints Row was never as big and hyped as Mass Effect was, but even for all the shit Andromeda fucked up they still seem to have been putting genuine effort. This is an absolute embarrassment to the legacy of the studio.

I've never really felt Volition games were very polished, not really even up to the standards of AAA games. SR 3 and 4 were carried by having good writing and excellent VA.

Seriously, Red Faction Guerilla was an amazing game and an ol' favorite of mine. Even the trick side missions were a riot. Its one of the few games that managed to keep me engaged long enough to chase achievements. Armageddon was alright, but not nearly the Guerilla experience of "GTA on Mars". You get to use a power lifter like the one Ripley uses in Aliens to flip enemy trucks and tanks for fuck's sake, how can you beat that?
