Things are going to get even more interesting now.

Man, everything they do to show up AEW seems to backfire. Obviously the overall ratings for the 8-10:30 show were higher than the 10-11 show. However the head-to-head numbers are the only thing that matters in the context of this battle. Don't really care what Rampage did in its unopposed half hour, same for Smackdown's unopposed two hours. Even if Smackdown ends up with a higher overall number for the head-to-head, AEW wins the demo yet again.

WWE of course has the caveat that Smackdown was on cable rather than network. The same thing is happening next week I believe, so it'll be interesting to see if they try to compete again.

I think it's just the good will AEW has earned following through with wrestlers and storylines and the bad will WWE has earned firing wrestlers and canceling storylines.

AEW sometimes has to break down things into 15 minute demo analysis to pull out a win, but that's OK with wrestling fans because enough people want them to win.

Now Romans Reigns is forever going to suffer memes about losing to The Bunny, who is one of the few AEW seemily dropped the ball with (but apparently she had mental health issues and that's why?).

AEW is giving fans everything they want but they are tearing through dream matches - at some point they have to slow down

Yeah and a lot of those are on Rampage, which has quickly turned into a B-show due to the death timeslot.

As much as I like AEW, I would do a lot of things differently.

Are they?

They have so many guys in main event or capable to be main event with the right push/storyline that they have LOTS of matches to get through without even considering rematches.

What dream match have they actually had recently? Omega vs Bryan?

Nah when they run out of steam here, they can just start doing more shit with NJPW. Jericho already wants to do a tag team match with omega vs tanahashi and okada which would blow the roof off the tokyo dome lol

speaking of NJPW, Shibata returning for an exhibition at the G1 Climax finals a few hours ago is fucking sick. I hope he can do some real matches in the future, that man made some of the best matches of all time

Omega vs Bryan is really the only dream match so far. Those two are going to have a series of matches eventually. That is going to be a long term feud, and the first match was really just only a taste of things to come.

They needed to do Suzuki vs Bryan before Suzuki left to go back to Japan. His tour of duty in the States is coming to a close soon. I really wish they would have given Suzuki vs Moxley a second match with the proper time. Their match in NJPW was great.

To me, a dream match is popular wrestlers from different companies wrestling, because usually that would never happen.

So we had:
Omega vs Christian
Darby vs Rusev
Cody vs Black
Omega vs Bryan

Moxley vs Susuki
Bryan vs Susuki

Mostly these guys have all been wrestling low-midcarders to build them up and not each other.

I haven't even mentioned CM Punk, Andrade or Adam Cole who I don't think have wrestled anyone of note other than Andrade vs PAC which could have been a WWE match for all I know.

FTR are an example of exhausting all possible matches other than rematches, I think they wrestled every other tag team by now.

4. Britt Baker (AEW)
5. Thunder Rosa (AEW)
6. Sasha Banks (WWE)
7. Syuri (Stardom)
8. Io Shirai (NXT)
9. Tam Nakano (Stardom)

If Vince got this pissed over this, I can only imagine how pissed he was last Friday.

Not fan of Cody winning, and I knew that was going to be the case when they set up a third match in a 2-0 feud. It's so fucking retarded to have a third match. They way he went over today really made Black look bad. I was so naïve about Cody, but I know see the light. I can't stand him anymore.

Apparently Charlotte was escorted off Smackdown for not following the script on the stupid belt exchange segment, Becky yelled at her backstage and they haven't been friends since Becky called her "plastic" in a promo last year.

WWE backstage drama is far more interesting than WWE.

I haven't seen Dynamite yet, but I seriously wonder WTF they're doing if they had Cody beat Malakai. It's uncharacteristic of AEW to spite the audience.

I also didn't like how Skye Blue, who was super-over in Chicago, got cheered so hard by the Chicago audience (that I was in) that AEW gave her a spot on the PPV rumble match. Then, in front of the same Chicago hometown crowd, she immediately got tossed at the PPV. It felt spiteful AF, like something WWE would do.

I'd normally say to see how it plays out as AEW usually deliver on storylines, but since he lost the TNT title Cody has been horrible and he seems to have creative control enough to keep it going.

However, Malakai said on twitter that he happily took the loss to make everyone hate Cody and that's totally true.

I'll be at Dynamite in Boston tomorrow night. Fourth AEW show in two months. I'll admit that I'm a lot less hyped for this than I was for the others (Chicago and Grand Slam). Was hoping for a Bray debut since it's Halloween, or some other Earth-shattering development, but it's looking like a standard filler episode instead. Chicago and Grand Slam probably just spoiled me though.

Speaking of Bray, his non-compete ends today as I understand it. Really hope he shows up in AEW and not Impact. He'd be nuts to show up in Impact when it's getting 80k viewers a week.

Bray's friend Braun went to Impact though, so I could see Bray showing up to join him and dominate the company. While I don't think Braun would fit in AEW that well, his new "Titan" persona is a hilarious Big Show style jab at his previous employer and just for that I wish he was on AEW TV.

Well if they get big in Impact they can always do a talent swap like they did with Omega/Christian and The Good Brothers.

I'm hoping to see The IIconics in AEW for some reason I can't figure out.

They definitely need to figure out something beyond just surprise reveals though, people like punk after 2 months of doing nothing doesn't seem like its smart to keep doing long term lol
cross promos are fun, i hope they do more of that, bringing in people like suzuki temporarily has been great
