I still play this game every other day or so for a couple matches.

My issue is that the progression is just so fucking annoying. Given that I play almost exclusively ship-combat I would have naturally chosen to pimp out my ships and indeed have purchased nothing but ship crates with the credits I earn. Sadly this has resulted in a wide mix of levels on different characters / classes most of which are not ones I want to or even can play.

I don't get the complaining about this game. I casually played ship combat mostly over the last month. My character rank hit 20 this weekend and I have a completely tricked out interceptor.

Basically if you spend your crafting stuff you can focus on a particular thing you want and pimp it out pretty well. Relying on the crates gets a very random mix of stuff which can help give you a jump start at something but in general to really max something you use crafting stuff upgrade the stuff you specifically really like. The achievement unlocks are a bit on the slow side and I think they may need to work to speed those up a bit. Trying to play specialist with the initial gun in matches where all the other snipers are using the higher grade weapons is very painful.

This I totally agree with, it's painful leveling up the weapons. I wish they counted arcade kills for weapon leveling. Because of that I have been concentrating on tricking out the enforcer class, pretty good results so far.

i love how there is no way to even track some of the monthly (?) bounties, like there is one for killing 50 enemies with each class but i have no fucking clue which classes i have left that need to kill, i'm just at 155/200 and the number doesn't seem to go up anymore and i have no way of knowing what i need to still do to finish. but yeah, leveling weapons is a clusterfuck and i have no clue the difference between 1 weapon or another, you just kinda feel like 1 weapon sucks balls when enemies kill you way faster than you can seem to kill them.

btw for anyone wondering you can bank more than 100k credits, i'm at 110k right now just saving them up in case they ever discount loot crates. i honestly don't find that much of a difference between the various star cards, and don't feel like I do so much better when i'm using the epic, 3 sec CD starcard vs the white, 5 sec CD starcard. There are maybe 5 starcards that make a huge difference, like the heavy right ability has one starcard that makes him a boss but the rest of his starcards are all meh

I don't get this , they are not going to discount crates more than they already are. At the very least you could spend it to unlock all Hero's and Hero Ships

I mean what more does a company have to do. For fucks sake, people didnt like the Pay to crate system, they got rid of it right before release. And lets be real here, they probably lost millions on that change. People didnt like the way progression was, so they changed it, took a bit longer to change as im sure it was major, but they changed it. Now its got skins to purchase, like any other fucking game in existence today.

People bitch at this company as if they killed your fucking dog or something, but you have shit companies like Blizzard doing the same shit with thier games, and everyone is like, its cool, its blizzard. Like hearthstone, ask yourself how you can play the ladder without paying for decks?

So youe never going to buy another EA/Dice game, like ever again? LOL

nothing to really do with battlefront but Epic (unreal engine) and ILM released a short 1 minute clip today

it uses the new nvidia RTX feature I believe to do real time ray tracing and photorealistic reflections and lighting all in real time with the unreal engine 4. Should make for some crazy visual updates in the next few years in video games.

They really missed an opportunity to use Gus and Geoff from Rooster Teeth to re-enact the beginning of Red vs Blue there. Err actually it was Church and Tucker wasn't it? I forget that dude's name.

Community Transmission - Night on Endor
Ewok Hunt
For the first time in Star Wars Battlefront II, you will be able to play as Ewoks. Take to the forest moon of Endor in this new game mode, Ewok Hunt.

The ambush begins as the Ewok attacks the unsuspecting stormtroopers, using spears, Wisties, and whatever abilities they can muster to take down the intruders. Each defeated stormtrooper spawns as another Ewok, multiplying until the Empire’s forces have been completely eliminated, and the Ewok celebration can begin. Imperial forces will need all their training to survive until their evacuation arrives. Do so, and they’ll make it off of Endor and claim the win.

We can confirm that Season Two will be coming in May, and you’ll get more details a little closer to the time.

Upcoming Challenges
We’ve got some great Challenges coming up, and fans of Emotes are going to enjoy the two below:
  • Name: Coatee-cha tu yub nub
  • Date: April 19 - 22
  • Objective: Defeat 25 Enemies in Night on Endor
  • Reward: Peekabo Emote
  • Name: Fastest Hunt of Junk
  • Date: April 26 - 29
  • Objective: Defeat 10 Enemies as a Starfighter
  • Reward: Chosen One Emote

Sounds like they are going to focus season 2 around the Solo movie? They massively revamped the systems a few weeks ago to get rid of loot crates completely and i'm not a huge fan of the new system, mostly because i have all these fucking credits and nothing to spend it on. Haven't really played since the update, but being able to kill Ewoks may bring me back in.

This game has some really great parts. Space combat is the best I have played since x-wing vs tie fighter.

Stop being a lemming
I played it a bunch this last week when I was sick. I like the changes all the heroes and base ships are unlocked so everything that came with the game you can play. There is zero way to pay to win anything in it now at least at this time.

The combat is pretty fun the ground combat is a pretty enjoyable if more arcade like combat but it is enjoyable because sometimes you just want to shoot stormtroopers in the face or rebel scum in insanely well modeled environments. I wish the guys were a bit more nimble climbing over shit but overall it is very solid and the weapons other than the starting specialist weapon all feel pretty good.

The space combat is hella fun and I don't really have anything similar on the PC or my ps4 at this time so if I am in the mood to shoot space ships its about the only thing I have at the moment that is similar to it.

The stuff to spend the credits on is coming it is going to be cosmetic stuff for various troopers/heroes and I think future heroes will get unlocked via credits as well. So build them up now stuff to spend them on is still coming. I was confused as shit about this as well monday when I was feeling like total garbage on the couch. I kept looking and I could not find a damn thing to spend credits on because everything that used to use them was unlocked. I had to look it up but they had pages showing a lot of different armor color options for clones/alien options for rebel units and other stuff cosmetic wise. I am guessing their approval process with disney for that stuff takes a while.

It looks like there eventually will be some cash store stuff but it looks to be pure cosmetics new hero/trooper skins. No loot crates at all other than your daily one that just shits out some random credits and some that give you specific emotes for doing certain achievements. You can't buy loot crates at all now all your cards and card upgrades happen simply by leveling that trooper or character or ship. Every level gives you an upgrade point that allows you to upgrade or unlock one card for that class.
