Really sorry, but I just couldn't take another second of stunty. I still have a splitting stress headache just from the uneventful couple turns we played. In retrospect, I wish I had gone with my initial impulse and let someone else take my playoff spot, but I really thought I could at least play out another game or two to finish out the post-season. Thankfully I'm done with the league for good at this point.

I'm going to sit out season 2 of stunty. I love it, but I just don't have the time for 3 games a week. I've already come close to missing the end-of-day deadline for the regular league a few times in the past weeks. If there's a stunty season 3 in May I'll get back into it because my classes will have finished so I'll have a lot more free time.

If I come back I will have to restart. The last game I played just faceraped my roster, culminating in the death of my one ogre with block. Plus, fuck halflings. In a normal league, you can avoid the trees, but most players in stunty do not have the ground speed to do it. And when you are like Whatsamatta and never take root, then its sad times. Had fun and all, but when you play over half the season with no rerolls because everyone you face runs the chef, I can see why Gav lost his shit a bit. Might give gobs a try.

Oh I love stunty (despite my saltiness and raging in IRC). Doing shit like tossing a ball carrying halfling across the field? You don't see that in the regular league so it's a really fun change of pace. I just don't have the time to do more than 1 or 2 games a week, sadly.

Its fun, but it gets old if half the league is playing low TV flings. Same thing happens in regular if everyone plays full bash all the time, too, especially if its lots of dwarves. No simple solution to that issue since you guys are really bloodthirsty in this league compared to most Tabletop ones I have participated in. Stunty at least has the virtue of being able to build up a competitive roster fairly fast, while if you try and restart in a normal league with persistent rosters you end up getting shredded by CLPOMB chaos or blown out by maxed out woodies all the time.

I wouldn't say it's more fun, but I enjoy playing stunties when they're on a level playing field (ie, themselves).
By the way, you and I have a double header this week, as I play you in D2 as well. I'm probably going to go to bed soon here, but my schedule should be wide open until Sunday afternoon. Pick a time and I'll make it work.
Phaz - I think you just had a bad experience because you were playing the "bloat" team. I played a couple halflings too, but never felt my RR's were an issue because my TV is much closer to halfling TV than Ogres ever get.
I also spend a lot of time considering my next matchup (in all leagues) and the TV difference very carefully. I'll cut players if it's going to cost me big inducements. I know that's somewhat impractical with ogres since Ogres are big and expensive and snots are worthless, but it's still worth considering. In a perfect world, I always try to give up x40 (where X is any multiple of 50) TV if I have to. If it's 40, they can't get a babe. If it's 90 they can't get a bribe. If it's 140 they can't get a wizard, etc.
I would say I put just as much strategy into pregame as I do into the game itself.
Oh, FYI, if you guys aren't playing for S2 stunty, and are done with this season, feel free to drop your team out. Likewise if you want to get in on S2, go ahead and app a team. It'll make setting up S2 a lot easier for me if you guys are proactive and take care of it when you know what you're doing.

I'm mulling it over at the moment. My team got really wrecked by that last game, but I am not certain I want to restart with a different team. My main league team got crushed pretty bad too rescently, but zons bounce back easier and not everyone is bash happy yet in that division. I'll decide by the time you make a formal anouncement of next season.

You've got 2 ogres a cas away from another level. I don't see a reason to reroll that, to be honest. Unless you were planning on rolling another team.

The D2 game should be fine, playing Underworld against Chaos Dwarves. I'm not feeling real optimistic about walking outta that with 11 players.
The stunties though...yeah, I agree. I have a pretty retardedly good team. Doesn't seem like it on paper, but they have done literally everything I've asked them to this season. I haven't run the BB manager on them, but I feel like I've had multiple games where I haven't even had to use a RR until late in the 2nd half. Up until this last game, I've had no serious injuries since game 1.
If it makes you feel any better, my +agi gob is taking a nap this week thanks to Xannder bashing the shit outta me.
