Even knowing what's coming doesn't make it any less enjoyable. They are doing an outstanding job with the adaptation.
The english dub even had the lead singer of Dragonforce do the singing.

the country bumpkin sword master series popped up on my amazon- looked eh/fun-ish in the first 15/20min... is it worth it? Also, for all the assets this show has shown off, does it ever pay out or is it one of those "oh its PG13 so...no" I find that silly on anime lol somtimes - its obviously all adult oriented in blood gore story action violence and show everything but a pixle...so TV13! AOKAY.

I enjoyed that series, but no, never more than what you've already seen in terms of fan service. I can't blame them, I guess, because sex sells, but you get a little jaded after a while.

i really liked it but the whole him being oblivions to all the chicks simping on him is over the top. Especially when the premise of him leaving his parents house is to find a wife. Other than that it was right up my alley. Old guy that is better than he thinks etc.

He sees his pupils as his daughters, because he kind of trained and raised them, so they are not relationship material for him. The anime is enjoyable but nothing special, but the manga has some of the best fight choreography in recent years and is very good.
The schtick of the show however, is that everyone around him is using flashy anime sword styles with pirouettes and shit, while he himself is a badass and uses ... basic training and HEMA sword skills. Shadiversity approves:
