Sounds like a perfect opportunity for Hollywood to subvert our expectations and cast some flat-chested black-haired ham-planet as Power Girl!
So your down down for the Elliot Page Powergirl then?

(That's an image so counter to the will of God I can't even get Grok or Gemini to mock up the movie poster for it, so consider yourself spared!)

Chloe Moretz is an example of this. Was pretty popular at one time, fizzled out in movies. Now does big $ doing clothing modeling. Last I checked, no one is flying me to France and paying me $125k to put on a pair of socks for a single day's worth of work and get top flight hotel rooms too.

Children actors fizzle out as adults all the time. People identified with them when they were young but it's just strange when they grow up.

I had to look her up, and I'm going to go with the oft cited "plastic surgery" is what made Chloe look weird.

There was some guy on misc a decade or more who was obsessed with her.

$80m seems little low, most still think it will go above $150m.

1783094812685.png

if it does make $80 and the percents remain about the same, would be looking at $80m dom/$56m inter/$136m ww
which puts it just above Blue Beetle $72m/$58m/$130m

the split is nearly the same with Superman 2025 57.3%/42.7% and Blue Beetle 55.4%/44.6%
but worse than nearly everything else.
Aquaman Lost Kingdom 28.3%/71.7%
The Flash 39.8%/60.2%
Black Adam 42.7%/57.3%
Man of Steel 43.4%/56.6%
Batman v Superman 37.8%/62.2%
Birds of Prey 41%/59%
Suicide Squad (2021) 33.1%/66.9%
Morbius 44.1%/55.9%
Terminator Genisys 20.4%/79.6%
The Marvels 41%/59%

Did anyone else see the supergirl ulta commercial. No fucking lie, I look up at the TV and see Supergirl speaking for Power Clam

WTF is power clam? My wife guessed a vibrator.

Don't see a screencap of the commercial, but Ulta's have this display out.

I don't think blowing some Hollywood exec got her that role. Not even taking up the ass. She must have had to do some Dubai level things. Why doesn't google show the proper meaning of Dubai milkshake?
you have so much to teach me

imo she got it cause she's hot and at least decent enough an actor to score a main character in a GoT spinoff.

The problem is DC didn’t want to put in the work that early Marvel did. And current Marvel gave into late millennial shitlib ideals.

Up through the Spiderman movie right after Endgame, marvel had what the kids call a generational run. It took time and a lot of patience and money to make that pay off. Marvel almost failed - the early non-Iron Man stuff was either mediocre or sucked. But, they didn’t subvert their characters. Not sure if Supergirl did, but DC didn’t have the goodwill built enough for this. It would have been like launching Guradians of the Galaxy as the second Marvel movie ever. It would have been weaker and dumb at that point.

Why would they follow up Superman with another Super/Kryptonian movie? Baffling choice. Who approves this shit? Do they just hand out blank checks and tell them to have fun?

I never understood how truly terrible movies make it all the way through. I mean, if I was "the boss" I'd get experts / known industry talent to review scripts, the story, etc before moving ahead.

Usually, test scores go up, up, and away. But this March, the scores for Supergirl actually went down when DC Studios held a bakeoff, testing competing cuts from filmmaker Craig Gillespie and from the studio, run by James Gunn and Peter Safran.

It was a moment of extreme disappointment for those involved, as the stakes were high, particularly for DC. Supergirl would be a key test for the Warner Bros. division as its first feature not written and directed by Gunn, following last year’s inaugural outing, Superman.

whole movie sounds like a huge mess with competing people editing different cuts, gunn doing all sorts of music shenanigans, etc. fundamentally though it seemed incredibly stupid to give the writer job to someone who has had zero writing credits and probably only got hired cuz she has tits
